If that report is true, Lattimore isn't out for the year. He's out for a CALENDAR year. The recovery process for an injury like that is at least 12 months. Hopefully he can get a medical redshirt next season and come back in 2014

I didn't necessarily want to spark yet another discussion about Cooper because I don't want to bore you, although I'll happily discuss him from now until the draft.
I was really looking to see if you were all as impressed with the play as I was. I'm not an evaluator so maybe I'm over playing it, but that play blew my socks off. He blocks two linemen at the LOS runs 40 yards downfield, blocks a third player and then looks to block a fourth only to be knocked over by one of his own players. On that one play alone I see athleticism, speed, a high work ethic and football intelligence/awareness (always looking for someone to block).
FWIW, Scouts.com have Cooper rated as a 94. That's the same as Chandler Jones (we did alright there) and one higher than DeCastro (93).
Unlike Manx, I don't believe in taking WRs in the 1st round.
I just want to address this:
1. Id be inclined to agree with you and Cooper in the first with either Stedman Bailey or Markus Wheaton later would probably be my preferred route. However, Terrance Williams is such a great fit for the system that I have to rank him that high.
2. I have a hunch that it might be at the WR position that we'll double dip this year. Whilst I'd happily re-sign Welker, I'm not convinced we'll go all out to do so and I'm not convinced that Edelman is the answer either. That basically leaves us Brandon Lloyd and little else. Also, our FA attempts at the position last year were to be frank almost farcical, only saved by the Lloyd signing.
3. Check the yards per game stats for college receivers this year:
1 Terrance Williams 168.8
2 Austin Franklin 118.0
3 Quinton Patton 115.1
3 Alex Amidon BC 115.1
5 Stedman Bailey 114.3
6 Tavon Austin 113.6
6 DeAndre Hopkins 113.6
8 Marqise Lee USC 112.0
9 Brandin Cooks 111.2
10 Markus Wheaton 109.0
Look at the difference between Williams and the rest. Also just realised that my five favourite receivers (highlighted) are in the top 10.

marqise lee probably jumped to the top of the list (ypg) after yesterday's game

Besides Safety, this years crop looks super disappointing at the types of DT and LBs we need.
Kawann Short! Best pass rushing defensive tackle since Suh.
Also, and tell me if I'm wrong, am I the only one who thinks Vince Wilfork is having and off year?

Let's not forget Keenan Allen, one of my favorite receivers.

Short and Shariff Floyd are both on my list as possibilities, though I prefer Jesse Williams, who is less of a penetrator. Right now NFL DraftScout ranks Williams 28, Floyd 33 and Short 36, so they're all in the right general range. Sheldon Robertson (39 on NFL DraftScout's list) is also interesting.

Realistically he's out for a calendar year until he starts to play, probably 2 full years until he gets back to anything like previous form. He may never truly recover from an injury of that magnitude, and with a prior ACL injury on the other side he's got huge red flags that make it questionable as to whether he can continue to play. Just devastating. Then again, Frank Gore had bilateral ACL injuries and has been a workhorse in the NFL. Hope the kid can recover, but this is just awful.

Wonder if he got anything to loose by going into the draft now? He wont be a high pick anyway, why not see if a team wanna use a 7 round and get money while you trying to rehab?

Geno Atkins is getting better and better in the run game, wouldn't mind trying Short or Floyd. But if Bill trying to get back to 3 man front, then those would be bad picks. Also starting to see some mocks and reports with Louis Nix, if so then he's my pick.
