does anyone else think matt elam should be our first pick? He's a hard hitting SS from Florida. I love the way he plays. With Matt elam i think he would help bring back that huge hitting savage mentality that the ravens and the 49ers have that we used to have. The more i watch the more i like about matt elam id pick him at 29 in a hardbeat

I worry about him in coverage. He's a great hitter, I'm just not sure BB would value that over coverage ability. He's said that he wants his safeties to be interchangeable. DJ Swearinger on the other hand offers a better combo of draft value and hitting.

Elam is by far the best safety in the draft. Always making plays, always flying to the ball carrier. Does any and everything he can for his team to win. Hard worker with a non stop motor and great talent. He leaves it all on the field and will bring great intensity and momentum to this defense. Elam is the type of player that the pats need to add to our defense. He is the best safety talent wise by far as well as having a great motor and being a team player.

i feel like with mccourty back there our SS can be a better hitter than coverage guy i havent seen enough of dj swearinger but i know hes a good hitter. I think being from florida also helps Matt elam to patriots as well

Swearinger is a major sleeper at the safety position. Is the second best safety in the draft behind Elam.

Dexter McCoil out of Tulsa and Jonathan Cyprien out of FIU are major sleepers who will be steals in the late rounds.

According to the Twitter-verse, every team will meet with every player apparently. Fluker had an outstanding weigh-in. Certainly interesting although I worry about him going up against speed rushers.
