Deandre Coleman would be a good fit here. He mostly plays over the tackle in a 3-4 (5-tech) but also plays over the guard (2-tech) in 4 and 2 man fronts. That’s what he would do here and I think that’s a need for this team. I wasn’t too impressed with his play. It’s only one game, and I usually like to get in as many games as I can. I’d put him in the same class as the other 2/5-tech prospects I like: KLM, Dial, Campbell.
Keenan Allen did not impress me, but it was only one game, and one of his lesser games at that. He is a very good and willing blocker though.

I was wrong (kind of) about Phillip Thomas. He’s pretty good. He’s very fluid and smooth. He played a lot of man coverage in the slot and blitzed the edge from there too. Showed good instincts and a nose for the ball.
I’m still a big fan Dexter McCoil.

We haven't seen a mock from you in a while have we? What's your thinking at the moment?

I had one that was close to ready, but the new rankings blew that up.
Brugler must be reading my posts.
I'm thinking that early in the draft there is a gap in between the value I would want (or accept) and the value that will be available. Can Cooper fall to us? Maybe, but it looks more like we will have to choose between Kawann Short, DeAndre Hopkins, Xavier Rhodes, or Barrett Jones. Someone like that.
I'd rather trade down and out and take more shots later in the draft if that's the case. I don't buy the idea that the trade down is dead. The draft is still far out and there's a lot of moving pieces, but I don't like the way the top of the draft looks right now. This probably won't be a popular opinion.
i like that kyle juszcyk seems like he would definitely worth the 7th rounder or UDFA. I think now is the time to trade away mallett for a pick in the second round or 3rd either one would be good we could sign matt cassell back and that would be fine. For the draft I want us to trade our 1st round pick for a 2nd and 3rd/4th If it is an earlier second rounder we will be good. The players we should target are Cooper, Fisher, Ansah, Williams, Hankins for first round (any would be good 2nd round Lemonier, Austin, Patton, Hunt, van noy or Jamar Taylor and 3rd round McFadden, Wheaton, Winters and whoever else has dropped etc. Aperfect draft for me would be trade first round pick for 2nd and third round then draft Williams (hope he drops) then Patton and then Jamar Taylor and Leon Mcfadden third round then 7th round Kyle juszcyk and tyrann mathieu/kyle long
I can see Cooper slipping. DeCastro fell to 24 last year and Zeitler went 27. Warmack will probably be picked outside of the Top 10-12. We're picking at 28th as of now. Wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities to drop to our pick. I wouldn't have a problem with him because it would upgrade two positions. RG and move Connolly to C.
Bill should've used 21 on DeCastro, then taken Jones at 25.
Hightower is way too slow for 4-3 OLB, and his effort sometimes is appalling.

There's also no guarantee that Chandler Jones would have lasted to 25 if we had taken DeCastro at 21, so we might have missed out on a vital piece of our defense.
And Captain, I have a sneaking suspicion that if we'd drafted DeCastro and he'd gotten injured and Hightower was putting up big numbers for someone else that you'd have criticized "Bill" for not taking Hightower.

In general I would have taken that risk, TFB is the biggest impact player on the team and I prioritize protecting him, not just for this season but for the future as well.

They're upsetting to me. Just about every player I like is rising.
Seems to happen every year. There are, however, always a couple of sliders who are there for
the taking in every round, including the early ones. This April, Bill must hit on every one of them;
he has no margin for error due to his lack of multiple picks in any of the first 6 rounds.
