Potential 7th Round/UDFA backup left offensive tackles:

Tanner Hawkinson, OT - Kansas
David Quessenberry, OT - San Jose State

"Diamonds in the rough" so to speak.

I was a Sherman fan too. I believed the only thing he lacked was straight line speed. His speed may have been horrible, all kinds of terrible, just pathetic. Beyond that, close to perfect

I have seen Quessenberry once (I've got more games on my TiVo's). It was mediocre competition, but you absolutely couldn't ask for better play. The only way he could have played better would be if he pancaked opponents on literally every play, as opposed to simply making sure no defender he blocked could make a tackle

Sherman may not have had Patrick Peterson's straight line speed, but he wasn't slow at all. He was a high school All American track athlete in the triple jump (California record 50'8"), broad jump (23'8"), and 100M hurdle (13.99 seconds) with a 100M time of 10.77 seconds. He had an 11" broad jump, 38" vertical and 6.72 3-cone at 6'3" prior to the draft. Every single number was solid EXCEPT his damn 40 time (4.54), and he had a history of plenty of linear speed based on his track experience. He never played slow on the football field.

More precisely, red hair + ugly beard potential.

There's a number of very scouting nuggets of small school guys from JB Scouting in the below thread. JB Scouting is a service that does scouting for some bowl games and all-star games. Seems to specialise in small school stuff. Nothing very detailed but I thought Mayo and others will like what he has to say about Brandon Williams:

Quote:
Brandon Williams / DT / Missouri Southern- Had a monster year. Best small DT in the draft and best I have seen in a long time. 2nd or 3rd round. Great size, length, and athleticism. Every team who I have talked to about him either loves him or is chomping at the bit to see him based on what myself and the combine said on him. When I say teams have no seen him I'm talking GMs and directors. All the area guys love him. Even attracted a few GMs during the fall.
