Like seeing Nick Kasa on there as underrated. Agree with that.

I wish Brockers fell. He already has 3 sacks and only has played 7 games.

I just saw Nix III get triple teamed, then effortlessly disengage all three and sniff out a RB screen. Beast!! as Grid would say.
I had him as a top 10 pick before the season started

I finally got round to watching your UCLA CB pair. They're fascinating. You watch them and think they're fantastic but then realise that they're not always achieving that much. If it wasn't for one game where one of them got 3 INT's (can't remember which one - they're seperated at birth) they've only got two int's each over two years. They look perfect for the role, but where's the production? Is it athletic limitations? Scheme?
I do like Wheaton. I have him as a late second round prospect.

Regarding the UCLA duo, it's not about their picks. It's about the catches they don't allow. Excluding the Oregon State game (Price struggled, Hester was fine), those two are the stingiest corners in man coverage in the country. I still can't get over last year's Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. They completely destroyed A.J. Jenkins. He couldn't get a foot of separation the entire game. It was just nuts. I've never seen anything like it. For the entire game, IN MAN COVERAGE (he did make a 60 yard catch on a missed assignment in zone), he averaged less than 1.5 yards per target on 14 targets. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Regarding scheme, they were zone heavy last year, which was pretty stupid, because their linebackers are as anemic in coverage as any linebacker core in the country (the Arizona State game is downright funny), and this year, they have been using more man.

And yes, they were separated at birth. It's pretty weird.

Has there been any indication as to whether Nix is going to enter the draft? I'm a fan.

Not Really. Assuming they miss out on the NC against alabama, got to think there'll be some pressure to come back for another crack. The only people leaving are Eifert, Te'o and a RB. Still a good core.

True, and Tuitt has to stay another year. Makes sense for Tuitt and Nix to play another year and then both enter the 2014 draft.

I'm not sure "completely destoryed A.J. Jenkins" is a very strong argument, but I generally agree with you - it's about the coverage, not the picks. Give me a 3rd CB who can play tough physical press-man coverage. The picks will come with pressure and errant throws.
Off The Grid and like this.
