I wish Brockers fell. He already has 3 sacks and only has played 7 games.

I just saw Nix III get triple teamed, then effortlessly disengage all three and sniff out a RB screen. Beast!! as Grid would say.
Just started ND and USC on your recommendation. Haven't watched ND all year so should be interesting.

WalterFootball.com: 2013 NFL Draft: Defensive Tackle Rankings

Quote:
Louis Nix*, DT, Notre Dame
Height: 6-5. Weight: 326.
Projected 40 Time: 5.55.
Projected Round (2013): 1.

11/17/12: Nix has been an animal for Notre Dame this season. He has been a disruptive force who blasts through the line. Nix has caused a lot of havoc on run plays for his teammates to clean up. He has totaled 35 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks, three passes broken up and one forced fumble this year.

The numbers don't illustrate how good Nix has been for the Irish. He looks like a first-round talent for the 2013 NFL Draft, but could crack the top half of the first round if he returns for 2014 and plays well.

8/25/12: Nix had a strong sophomore season for Notre Dame. He was a tough run plugger at the point of attack and did a good job of occupying blockers. Nix totaled 45 tackles with 4.5 tackles for a loss, .5 sacks and a pass batted. In the spring head coach Brian Kelly almost rode Nix out of South Bend and removed Nix from a starting spot. Nix worked his way back into the starting lineup, and it looks like a motivational ploy by Kelly. Nix has a big personality known by his nickname "Irish Chocolate" and creating a segment of YouTube videos entitled "Chocolate News."
I'll take Louis Nix in the first round, that is if he declares.

Lots of good prospect in that one, but I don't need to tell you that.

I would too, and we'd have no shot at him next year. I don't think he's 6'5" though.

what do you think Carradine's stock is? I think if we can get him at the tail end of the second then we should go for it.

Third to Fourth round seems to be the consensus. Jimbo Fisher says he'll be good to go next season so I absolutely agree, take him in the 2nd. With Cunningham, Nink and Bequette, it's not like we have to rush him in.

CBS has him at 110 which seems right to me, and he's in Brugler's new Risers and Fallers: NFL Draft Risers and Fallers - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

Quote:
It seems each week we are reminded just how cruel this game came be and not even the most talented players are immune from injuries. Two weeks ago, Penn State standout linebacker Michael Mauti went down with a knee injury and this past Saturday in the Seminoles loss to the Gators, senior Cornellius "Tank" Carradine suffered a torn ACL in his right knee on a non-contact play late in the fourth quarter. Although he entered the 2012 season as a reserve, he quickly made an impact as a starter when senior Brandon Jenkins was lost for the year with a Lisfranc injury, giving Carradine the opportunity to shine. The injury is devastating news for Carradine who had played his way into the first round discussion after an excellent senior campaign, recording 11.0 sacks and 13.0 tackles for loss through 12 games in 2012. Every player responds differently to knee injuries and scouts are hopeful he will return healthy at some point next summer or fall, but the injury will certainly hurt his draft stock with his health in question. Time will tell where he lands on draft weekend, but unfortunately for Carradine, it's fair to say his first round hopes are now doubtful.

Carradine in the 3rd round would be a great value, but I'm sure some other teams would have the same idea. A lot depends on how quickly he heals and whether he can show anything at all prior to the draft. But Ryan Broyles still went 2nd round despite an ACL injury.

Well sure, it only takes one team, but Broyles healed very quickly. I don't think Carradine will be able to workout in front of scouts like Broyles.

Yeah. Broyles happened early in the season. Not the last game. With the depth at the position and no desperate needs, we can afford to redshirt him.
