For thirty years I looked foward to draft day like a kid looks fowaard to Christmas morning. Shinny new players that were all going to make it.
Maybe its just me but this year is different for some reason. We have the seventh pick, but even a few days before the draft we have no idea what will happen.or who are the consensis picks for the seven slot. It changes from week to week.
Will we trade down,or up. Take a CB.DE.LB,or O-lineman,there's a new flavor all the time. It just seems this year its harder to get a handle on the potential prospects besides Gohlston, and C.Long
The only thing I can say for sure is that it will happen fast,no waiting 3-4 hours........unless theres a trade down.

If we pick at 7 and 62 we could end up waiting another 7 hours after the first pick. That's gotta be one of the longest waits in the league, except maybe San Diego and Cleveland.

I never thought of that. I can't take watching ALL those prospects getting picked up while we wait.
It's just as entertaining rooting for guys I want drafted not to be drafted on other teams I guess - so that will help with the wait.
I take it to seriously and always have, because it is a special day for me. I can't stand watching prospects drop off the board while we wait for our turn to come up. BB's drafts are especialy hard for me to deal with because you never know what he is going to do,or take. And example would be you read, and hear about a number of prospects that are highly rated by many scouts. When our turn to pick comes up we grab someone that I have to dig way back in my draft guides to find.....like Deion Branch. When we picked Branch I said WHO theres all these top rated guys still on the board, I never heard of Branch, where did he play?. That being said it usually turns out said unheard of player turns out to be alright. But going through it is tough.
It's the greatest day of the year, I can't wait for the intrigue, the reaches, the curve balls, the boo's raining down from the Pats haters. It's almost here, Saturday morning when I wake up my head will be spinning with trade thoughts and top 7 projections all day long up until 3pm.
That's a good point. I don't know which of the players are going to actually be at the draft, but no matter who we draft, expect him to get boo'd ridiculously. Not that it means anything.
I'd watch the draft if the Patriots had no picks, I love it. Heck, I watch in 2000 when we had no #1 pick and The Jest had four of them. If you could watch that year you can watch any year.

You've obviously got a stronger stomach than I.
I'm just happy that the JEST did about as much with those four first-rounders as the Pats did with the firsts they got for Parcells in the Bobby Grier era. /

The nice thing is that, we really don't know what first-round gift Uncle Bill and Uncle Scott are going to bring us--and we know it may not be that shiny new toy we had our eyes on--but quite likely it'll be something that, a couple years from now, we'll wonder how we ever got along without.
