Default Could B. Albert be drafted ahead of C. Long?

It sounds insane. But there are some hints pointing toward C. Long dropping. M. Mosely said that the Jets believe C. Long will be there at 6. Edholm of PFW said the Pats may not be in love with C. Long. Nawrocki had C. Long dropping to #7, and said from what he's hearing he's out of the top 5. M. Kiper has C. Long as the #5 overall prospect.

Meanwhile, B. Albert just visited Atlanta and KC. B. Albert's stock is sky rocketing.

If J. Long goes first overall, and KC determines they need O-line help and B Albert is the #2 OL in the draft, then this bizarre scenario could actually occur: B. Albert could be the first UV prospect off the board. Weird.

Well, the Pats haven't broiught him in for a workout, have they.

Misdirection? Or a true lack of interest?

The reason I could see C. Long dropping (a little) is that he's not as safe a pick as some think as he's likely changing positions but also has less upside than a Gholston as he's not as good an athlete. Less upside than others + not as safe as some think mean he could slip some.

Given that Al Groh and BB are on fairly good terms, I suspect that Belichick knows--from Groh--enough to have decided already, one way or the other.

But there are stories of scouts/coaches leaving halfway through a workout/game/etc., so as not to tip their hands, so to speak.
