i think this is just a show. So other teams can think of trading up to the pats if mcfadden falls.

The deal is, we just don't need him. I mean it would be nice, but it's not a necessity ya Know??

We need Gholston OR trade that pick to Atlanta for 2 of their 2nd round picks - That would be sweet.

Are you suggesting we trade the #7 pick for 2-Second Round picks?

I believe Atlanta has picks 34 & 37. I know most people don't put much stock into the "Trade Value Chart" these days, but it's not even close.

The 7th pick is worth 1500 points.
The 34th pick is worth 560 & the 37th pick is worth 530 = 1090

That difference of 410 Points is a BIG one! Based on the chart, pick 49 carries a weight of 410 points.

I also have read that the Patriots may take less value than the chart suggests to move down. If all the players the Patriots believe are worthy of the #7 pick are gone, they will be willing to take less and move down. That said they will not be willing to get abused in the process (which would be taking pick 34&37).

Here would be a more reasonable trade:

Patriots trade # 7 to the Falcons for their #34 and 2008 1st round pick
or
Patriots trade # 7 to the Falcons for #34, #37 and their 2nd round pick in 2009

We need to how whether he is worth anywhere near the #7 pick. And yes, if we are in the position of shopping him, we need to be able to discuss his worth.

Yeah but still, you have to wonder... what if we ACTUALLY LANDED McFadden. Could you imagine our offensive output? While I, for one, have been screaming for weeks about our need for the defense to get younger, I still wonder what it would be like if we got Darren McFadden to compliment Maroney, Moss, Welker, and Brady.

I would rather have his running mate (I forget his name).

I have had the same thought....Part of the thought is that we can still improve our de over last year and we can improve our Offense over last year.

As our Offense was one of the best ever it is harder to improve than our defense which was good for the year but average when weighed against history.

So by sinking the #7 into McFadden you throw some heavy amunition at improving the offense. You than use the next few picks on LBs and DBs and you may improve the de as well.

IMO the most important thing to this de improving over last year is the health of Seymour closely followed by the continued developement of year two players Thomas and Merriweather.

I would probably cry if you guys picked up Mcfadden at 7.. Lol, he's amazing. But I really think there are much more needed spots.. You should use it to improve your defense..

SO if you like him so much would you like to see him splitting carries with Addai? or are you just saying you want to enjoy watching him and wont be able to if he is a Pat?

I ask because alot of people around here dont want him because we have Maroney and I think that is a foolish reason.
