Default Bold draft idea

From the rather interestingly named Like Seriously, WTF?:

So, here's what they say happens:

* Pats trade 1.7, 4.31, and 5.31 for Dallas' 1.22, 1.28, and 3.29
* Pats trade Dallas' 1.28 for Cleveland's 1.57 + 2009 2

And here's what they give the Pats:

1.22. (via Cowboys via Browns)-Dan Connor, ILB, Penn State
2.25. (via Browns)-Darrell Robertson, OLB, Georgia Tech
2.31. Tracy Porter, CB, Indiana
3.6. (via Raiders)-Adrian Arrington, WR, Michigan
3.29. (via Cowboys)-Andre Fluellen , DT, Florida State
3.31. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, S, Tennessee State

It's bold . . . though I'm not sure I'm buying. Thoughts?

I see no reason why they'd do the Cleveland portion of the deal. The #28 pick seems to be of more value than two second rounders, both probably in the middle of the round.

I'd do the Cowboys part, but I don't think there's any reason to throw in two second day picks.

Then we could go something like:

1/22: CB Talib
1/28: RB Jones
2/31: OT Collins
3/6: LB Butler
3/29: TE Cottam
3/31: WR Avery
4/31 S Zbikowski

Felix Jones is a luxury, but I think he's going to be dynamite in the pros, so instead of carrying 17 WRs on the roster this year, let's keep an extra RB/KR. Actually, Jones, Avery, and Zbikowski can all contribute in the return game.

I'd finish off the draft with the corners that might available: Lowery, Godfrey, Tryon, Wilhite, Zenon, Ikeguwana. Along with a developmental ILB...Josh Johnson or Jameel McClain. Cornerback is deep, and there will probably be some slippage.

Please tell me that you really don't think Cromartie is slipping to Round 3. He will end up in the mid to bottom half of round 1.

Exactly. At worst the top half of the 2nd round.

Dallas is using their 2 1st rounders to trade up for Darren McFadden. BTW Rodgers-Cromartie is moving up the draft boards fast ... a possible 1st round pick. He needs a good combine to solidify that possibility.

Why would they do that when they could draft a nice RB later (like Felix Jones, Stewart or Mendenhall - one of those two should be taken before)

Agreed, Rodgers-Cromartie is already a late first, early second rounder. Not to mention you'd have to convince Dallas and Cleveland to trade.
