Seriously, Belichick was clearly done with this draft when he traded 92 and 125 and chose not to pick for two full rounds (65-137). He did this right after drafting Ridley with this board available
OG Rackley
OG Moffit
WR Hankerson
WR Jerrigan
DE Bailey
DL Casey
DL Eillis
Clearly, Belichick was done with this draft. He took the best player on his board, Ridley, and traded out. Obviously Belichick knows more than we do about how these players would fit into our system and whether they would be upgrades over what we have.
I'm fine with the assessment that Ridley was the best available for us at 74 and that there is higher value from a 2012 1st than what's left in this draft. So I don't EXPECT any player picked tommorrow or as a undrafted free agent to make the team.
Obviously, Belichick might find a magic pick, but this is a poor draft. In other drafts, we found starters like Koppen late, so we'll see. Maybe we'll trade down a couple of times and fill our camp roster early since the lockout is in place again and no free agents will be available.
The best I hope for is another trade into 2012, if anyone will bite.

Or perhaps, upon a review tonight, Belichick will see the one player he wants and trade up to get him. After all, the two 5th's would get us into the mid 4th. Belichick did that once and then draft the OG he wanted that year: Ohrnberger.

If he stays offense then I think he could draft an OG and WR.
If he goes defense, then he needs to look at a developmental OLB prospect and developmental DE.
If we pick up an OG or OC who is good enough to make the team, I will be well-please with the day's picks. Fusco or one of the other centers is a possibilty, but they are likely no better then Wendell.

Bill hated this draft after 56. He wasted no time in getting Vereen, but reached for Ridley and then took Mallett, who I consider equivalent to a 2013 1st. He traded out of the 3rd and 4th altogether before that pick was even on the clock. The only thing I'm disappointed in about this draft is that Bill couldn't trade picks for vets. Otherwise, we would've seen a draft a lot like 2007.

There is a reason this sucks on so many levels.....the players. If BB is assumed to be the Guru of the draft or whatever, what is he doing turning his back on the draft at this point?? Especially considering we picked up TB in the 6th!!!! Imagine the players hoping to get drafted seeing BB walk away from the table! This is the same "master" of the draft that each year keeps rookie UDFAs!! I think we should pitch in and send BB on vacation with Cam Newton! The guy has lost it.......
If we could somehow get Romeus in round 5, or trade into round 4 for him I would start to feel a little better about this draft. There are still some solid players left on the board, but I don't think BB will have much interest.

Please do not take personal offense to this jeff, but this is just ridiculous on many levels.
First of all, how do you know that he isn't going to find anyone in rds 4-7, UFDA's, or free agency (when it starts)?
"This guy has lost it???".....REALLY??? He made it so we cannot lose. We have the same exact 2 firsts and 2 seconds next yr, so there is no risk at all. If some of these guys do not work out, we still have the picks next year, and did not lose much of anything. He stole Mallett, who was the #1 QB on our board, and projected to go in the first rd by many. He obviously has a rocket for an arm, likely the most sheer talent of all the QB's, and will get to sit and learn under the greatest QB of all time. He should instantly improve our depth at the position, b/c you never know what can happen. If not, he learns under Belichick and Brady.
The RB situation is a lot better, we picked up a very tall CB with obvious first rd ties barring his injury last yr, and got a MONSTER OT to protect Brady, add depth to the OL, and give us leverage in the Light negotiations (if there even will be negotiations)
You may not agree with it---but "This guy has lost it???" That's just short-sighted.

The 5s, 6s, and 7s are good picks to look for interior OLinemen candidates. I'd still like to take a flyer on red-shirt Greg Romeus.

That is a great thought. I would love to take a shot on Romeus, and feel as though they have the perceived 'luxury' that we don't always have to do so. I think it's a low risk/high reward scenario, and would be quite pleased.
