I am a little confused about this so maybe someone can help me....

Suppose the worst case scenerio happens and there is no 2011 season and then the new CBA comes about in February of 2012 .....

What happens to the draft picks of the league this year and will they be considered rookies in 2012 and be lumped together on teams that drafted them this year for the next batch of rookies drafted in 2012?

If that is the case would the league have to allow a larger amount of players on all the teams to sort out the excess that would develop into TC in 2012?

I hope this makes sense because it is a bit confusing to me.

Anyone with a legit answer???

There will be a draft this year.

We assume that the new CBA will have a 2012 next eyar as pasr of it.

No matter how many games are played or missed, the number of players for next eyar needs to determined by the new agreement.

Yes, it would make sense to having higher roster limits in 2012 camp if this year's camp is missed, no matter how many games are played.

The more difficlut issue for me is 2011. It seems likely that some of camp will be missed. Let us presume that we start the season on time, or with only missing a game or two. What will happen to this year's rooks with no camp? Clearly, the teams needs roster exemptions and/or higher roster sizes for 2011.

So if there was no 11 season,then any player drafted in 2011 would be a rookie in 2012 and bunched up double along with the rookies of the 2012 draft...right?

The biggest issue facing the Patriots is that there may not be any free agency or draft picks for player trades.

This sucks for the Patriots, in a regular year they could end up with a haul.

1. Sign Light
2. Trade a draft pick for a disgruntled WR of your choice (Steve Smith, Chad Ochocinco, Vincent Jackson)
3. Draft 2-3 front seven players and add depth across the roster
4. Trade for a 1st rounder in 2012

All very reasonable, without free agency or player for draft pick trades the Patriots pretty much have to use 2 of their first 6 picks on offensive lineman. One of whom must be an immediate starter. If free agency occurs after the draft they can try to add a few players but it would be risky.
No CBA sucks for the Patriots.

Not sure we need to find a starting G in the draft. It would be nice for sure, but we did draft Ornberger with a 4th round pick a couple years ago. I have to think he would be a better solution with 2 years of Dante's teaching than most any rookie. And we could certainly pick up someone else's cast off starter as a stopgap as well.

I have to totally disagree, this is a championship contender with a HOF QB in his prime. Do you really want to see an O line of:
Vollmer, Ornberger, Koppen, Connolly, Rookie?

No free agency screws the Patriots, if they can have Light or Mankins signed before the draft then this team is golden.

Agreed - i would be staggerd if before any season in 2011, teams did not, at least, get the opportunity to re-sign its own players.

I would add that last year it was an MVP QB protected by an "MVP" O line...

I think we need some O lone help in the Draft, but would settle for round 2 help.
