The draft is great but just as important are veteran free agents. This is one of the first lists I have seen. With all the extra picks it makes a lot of sense to trade for veterans as well as sign a few.

As I'd said in a different thread, I would target a veteran running back such as Joseph Addai who I believe will be an unrestricted free agent. Because a lot of the other standout running backs, Cedric Benson, Ahmad Bradshaw, Ronnie Brown, Michael Bush, Jamaal Charles and DeAngelo Williams, could be franchised. And these teams need these players either because they're their starter or a vital backup.

Yeah i see what you mean... I really think Bush is the back that i would want for this team tho he seems like a great smash and bash runner. Then again i don't want to be selling BJGE short he has had success in short oppertunities
I would like Bush as well. However, McFadden is injury prone and Oakland won't allow Bush to go for that reason. And I read that the team is high on both running backs so it would be wishful thinking anyways.
Surprisingly few guys on that list who I like for the Pats - and all of them are highly likely to be retained by their current team or go to another team willing to give them an over-the-moon contract.
Not saying that there won't be a 2nd/3rd-tier guy or three brought into camp next season, but I'm thinking we're almost better off just continuing with the youth movement through the draft, especially while we have the picks to get some serious impact players.
1) OLB/DE Ray Edwards - The Patriots showed him more respect that Allen, for the most part Light was straight up against Allen but Vollmer was given help against Edwards.
You heard it here first, he is young (25), big and immediately adds a pass rusher as well as flexibility across the defensive front.

3) Since it is topical, sign Moss back at a discounted rate. He learns his lesson and accepts being the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th fiddle
Draft
Round 1 - add a 3-4 DE and an OT
Rounds 2 & 3 - add quality depth based on BPA
what has he shown you that leads you to believe that he has the abilty to play OLB for us. Lamarr Woodley would be a better safer choice at that position. I would love to extend Mankins but resigning Moss is simply a short term answer at a position that should be addressed for the long term via FA(Vincent Jackson) or the Draft (AJ Green/Jonathan Baldwin) the depth is their at DE as being shown this season after losing our number 1. The other pick should be used to upgrade the OL or possibly RB.
