Default Character issues

This is about what I've noticed people calling "charater issues"

Tanard Jackson's getting stabbed is a character concern?

First, Tanard Jackson does have other legit character issues.

What I want to talk about is this specific issue. He tried to break up a fight and was stabbed. How is it a character issue to try and break up a fight? Getting stabbed is now a character issue, especially when you're just trying to break up a fight?

Anthony Spencer's Mohawk is a character concern?

Anothony Spencer attended the NFL Combine sporting a mohawk. I've seen some people talk about that being a character issue. According to them it was a job interview and he should have shown up clean cut. His showing up with a mowhawk is a character concern because he's showing disregard for the process.....

So, I'm sporting long hair right now and I've had long hair off and on during my college career. According to those people I must not be taking things seriously, and I have character issues because of my hair cut. I mean Spencer's having a mohawk isn't really any different than my having long hair, right? This is football not the office, and I'm not trying to brown nose Mr. Smith for a raise. I'm trying to get a job where I'll be slamming other grown men into the ground on a weekly basis.

My point? Some people are way over analyzing things and taking this year's draft way to seriously. This current state of political correctness we find ourselves in could have a lot to do with it, but that conversation is for another forum.

Well it might be over analyzing, unfair, prejudice, take your pick . . . but it is what it is and if I were hiring someone and they walked in with a mohawk, well, I wouldn't think of it as a positive.

Are they downgradable issues ? I guess not. But if it sways teams to move in a different direction then the end result is being downgraded.

yeah some things are just stupid

if your breaking up a fight..your agood guy. unfortunate u got stabbed. the person who stabbed u is the 1 with character issues

hair style doesnt mean character issue at all..your not allowed to wear a certain hair do? Thats stereotyping isnt it?

the person calling these athletes "a bad character" have issues themselves.

real character issues:
Eric Wright: Supposivly raped a lady..and had 100some odd exctacy pills. Nothing really came out and pills might not have been his but u have to look into that a lot

Marcus Thomas: Smoked way too much..got suspended..if its illegal..you've got issues.

this is football , dreadlocks, long hair, tattoes, are in, this is not a business, i would agree with you if you where hiring someone for a corporate type job, it didnt stop belicheck drafting maroney or resigning paxton or koppen for the tattoes, i think it has no bearing

From the Sporting news:

Marcus Thomas failed two drug test-Kicked off the team in november
Tarnard Jackson- failed two drug test- this one surprised me
Tarrel Brown- Two drug test in the past eight months
I was looking hard at both Jackson and Brown before this info. Wright's problem was well publicized but happened a while ago. He may have got himself squared away, I don't believe in holding something over a young guy forever. We will see in a couple of days.

A Mohawk is cause for concern. A Fro-Hawk, which is what Spencer was sporting, is cause for celebration.

Funny a story would reference a mohawk as a character concern given the haircuts typically give their rookies as a rite of pasage.

Seb's 2 examples are not what I would consider "character issues" either.

Now, if a prospect repeatedly kicks another player while that player is defenseless and on the ground, I would consider that an example of "character issues".
