He's a junior in '07, so he could come out for the '08 draft:

Rey Maualuga (MLB, USC) 6'3" 250lbs.

He would be sick in NE's defense.

If he's stays healthy, has a great yar, and decides to come on as a Jr, will we be able to get him picking at #32?

Yea, if he plays up to his ability he might be gone in the top 15. I think he's the next very good LB to come out of USC. Unlike Lofa, Rey has very good size. (Lofa is only 6'0' 238lbs, and Rey's 6'3" 250lbs) I'd love him in the middle of NE's defense.

From scout.com (before his breakout performance in '06):
"Rey Maualuga is an absolutely amazing football player. There is no other way to describe him. His combination of size, speed, strength and instincts will eventually make him the best linebacker in college football. Last season, Maualuga had 37 tackles, forced two fumbles and an interception in limited playing time. What stands out the most is the way Maualuga simply obliterates the ball carrier. It’s not enough to just tackle him; Maualuga upends, crushes and smashes him. This season, he will push Oscar Lua for the starting middle linebacker spot and star on special teams."

benches 385lbs, squats 620lbs, 4.5-40, and has a 34in vert.

He had some troubles after his father died, but that seems to be past him now.
