Default Latest draft

I can only remember part of it.

1st 24 Darrelle Revis CB Pitt (I think Ross is a possibility here or later)
1st 28 - trade down 1st next year, 3rd this year
2 top (traded Samuel for 2nd with Arizona, I think) Meriweather Safety
3a. Stewart Bradley LB
3 Kolby Smith RB Louisville (this surprised me - don't know if there's room for one more, but would be good if Maroney goes down again)
4. Anthony Waters LB Clemson
5. forget who this was
6. Corey Graham CB NH
6. Laurent Robinson WR
6. Will Herring Auburn S/LB

I think that's a good draft.

If they only get a 2nd for Samuel, it SUCKS.
Anthony Waters in the 4th? I'd rather take DeOssie in the 3rd instead of Smith and a safety like Wendling in the 4th.

BTW, who did this draft?

I don't like the draft at all. Wendling is more of an OLB in a one gap scheme.

How is Wendling an OLB in a one gap Scheme at 6'1 and 222 lbs? I think that his measurables make him very similar to Rodney Harrison.

Anyways. Everyone has their favorites. Wendling happens to be one of mine because of his versatility (SS/FS) and intangibles (leadership, play-regocnition, play-making ability).

I have Bee on ignore so I'm assuming the mock is the one Db quoted, which is one of the better ones from the perspective of players I'm interested in.

typically if you trade away a #1..... don't you usually get a #1 for next year and this yr's 2nd rounder?

Depends who you trade w/. That's what we got from the Ravens a few years ago. Trading w/ teams that are not in the same echelon would probably bring less (based on draft value chart values).

Yea, if they traded with the Browns or someone like that NE would be getting a steal.28th overall for a high 3rd, and a high '08 first? I'd be LOL! They could always turn it around and that pick isn't as high in '08, but that's the risk you take.

I wouldn't trade 28th overall to a team with a late '07 third, and was expected to have a late round first in '08.

I forgot.

Don't know if Wendling is good in coverage. Maybe he is.

The thing about Samuel is teams may not be willing to give up much if he wants alot of money also. They have to take whatever they can get. A high #2 would be worth it, IMO. What else can they do? He'll hold out, the rat.

That's BS. Samuel is a Franchised player. That means he has a minimum of 4 years experience (in a job where experience is everything).

As for you thinking that a High 2nd is worth it, well so be it. I think it sucks and would be a major rip-off considering that the Franchise compensation is 2 1sts. Hell, the Pats got more than that for Tebuckey Jones. And Jones wasn't nearly the player that Samuel is.

Sorry, but the trade is garbage.

Also, everything that I have read about Wendling says that he is better in coverage than in the box, though he does have the ability to play SS. Its that sort of versatility as well as the intangibles I mentioned that have him on my board.
