Cousins,
I did a mock last night but it had some errors so I repaired it today.

I hope you enjoy this mock draft. I am sure you won’t agree with everything.I do have one trade I predict for it. The Falcons and owner Arthur Blanks (who looks like Bud Abbott of “Abbott and Costello” or at the least a carnival barker at the “girlee” side show) who has the ammunition (2, second round picks) to jump over Gruden and the Bucs and get their man, local GA player Calvin Johnson for Vick. Keep a stiff upper lip Jon (not bottom silly!). Blanks gives the Lions pic #44 for the swap moving from #8 to #2.

This trade was made possible and actually makes sense for all parties including (shock!) the Lions as…..Oh, I see!…… Millen was in the men’s’ room when this deal went down.

While the sitting Millen was in the men’s room, he was thinking about offering his new draft choices a Toyota when they sign. The crazy thing is Mr. Ford was gonna go along with this. Why stop a precedent!
ROUND 1

1) Oakland - QB JaMarcus Russell (LSU): NO CHOICE HERE. NO QB THERE.

2) *Atlanta - WR Calvin Johnson (Georgia Tech): A NON-PASS-DROPPER. AMAZING! AND A GA LOCAL.

I think I was the first to put Chris Denman in a Patriots mock, I wonder if he reads this board?

Patriots Mock Draft Version 2 Tom Casale, Patriots Football Weekly

Round 1A - Jon Beason, LB Miami (6-0, 237) Strong Safety? Looks more like a 4-3 MLB type when I see NFL Network showing his game tape.

Round 1B - Michael Griffin, S Texas (5-11, 202) Free Safety

Round 3 - Daymeion Hughes, Cal (5-10, 190) Maybe a corner, maybe FS with 4.6-ish speed

Round 4 - Zak DeOssie, OLB Brown (6-4, 250) Okay

Round 5 - Darius Walker, RB Notre Dame (5-10, 206) Okay

Round 6A - Desmond Bishop, ILB Cal (6-1, 239) Okay

Round 6B - Chris Denman, OT Fresno State (6-6, 315) There are much better tackles for the Pats, especially if they go zone blocking

Round 6C - C.J. Wilson, CB Baylor (6-1, 196) another 4.6-4.7-ish CB/FS

Round 6D - Ryne Robinson, WR Miami (5-9, 180) Straightline speed, not so hit on change fo direction but okay this late.

Round 7 - Jeff Rowe, QB Nevada (6-5, 226) Okay
Let's see, in a draft chock full of big, fast Safeties, the Pats take two small CB/FS types high, and another late? They also take two under-sized MLBs to use inside on the 3-4? Beisel was the same size as these cats. Denman over the likes of Taylor and Hall, tell me he doesn't have a Mankins fixation. The Pats have great FS depth on the current roster with Wilson, Hawkins, Baker, Sanders, Gay, Scott, & Spann. There are three beefier SS types if you count Sanders. If he wants a 4.6 FS, grab Payne in round 5 and get Ded Harrington for ILB later; or grab Herring in round 6 if you love Bishop so much. It's Wrong Borges strikes out as far as I'm concerned.

Beisel wasn't bad because of his size, he was bad because he was bad. Tedy Bruschi and Zach Thomas are too undersized ILB and they are both great players.
