Default David Ball Pro Day

From GBN Report:

Quote:
New Hampshire WR David Ball, who broke many of Jerry Rice's 1AA records, ran his 40s in 4.73 and 4.70. He also had a 33-inch vertical, 10-foot long jump, 3.97 short shuttle and a 6.59 three-cone drill. That speed will not allow him to be special but he catches well and is very smart and savvy. He could be good in the slot ...
Think those 40 times will scare most teams off?

The 40's and the level of competition, but those change of direction numbers are sweet.

Those numbers are the fastest in the combine.

This guy is one hell of a route runner.

This guy will never have break away speed but if you need someone to get open then Ball is your man. With numbers like that he's just improved his stock 10 fold.

Maybe it's just me but i think we should take him with our 5th round comp pick i think he would be a great target for Brady

I've been a fan for awhile now. On ESPN I posted probably about three different threads featuring his scouting reports, and bios. I think he could be the next sleeper pick, who turns into a productive pro. I'd probably spend a 6th round comp on him.

4.7 40's from a wide receiver. Come on now, that's considered slow for a linebacker! He's going to drop. He might be productive in the nfl yet but those times will drop him for sure.

Anquan Boldin ran something close to a 4.7

Yeah and Anquan Boldin was also injured when he ran those 4.7 40s. What is Ball's excuse?

Listen, I just said the Ball kid might be able to be productive in the NFL, but those 40 times would drop anyone in the draft. To expect otherwise is unrealistic.

I like the guy so much I almost wish he goes to a team that he has a chance to succeed. Imagine this kid fighting with 7 or 8 other Wr's on our team? I'd draft him with a 6th or 7th and put him on the practice squad. It would be nice if he could fill in when Caldwell and Gaffney are gone. Who knows maybe he will be a stud?
