Default New Draft Game

Basically the same as the old one, but a new new cleaner thread, with better defined rules.

Like the first thread we will be using the MSN/ FoxSports top 500 that can be found here: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6421386

You can pick anyone at or below the Pats picks, for example, if Chris Houston is listed at 24, you can pick him or anyone beyond that pick

Also you can make trades using the pick value chart that can be found here: http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/pick_value_chart.htm the picks that you trade must within 5 on the value chart, but use your own discretion. Please explain why the other team would make the trade, as proposed by PatChick!

Here is a list of picks...have fun finding a trading partner! http://www.thehuddlereport.com/nicke...aftorder.shtml

Also, this game will include the comp picks as projected by AdamJT13 of the KFFL forums, I personally think he's dead on about our comps, remember comps CAN NOT be traded. So let's use the following picks

24, 28, 91, 123, 160, 165, 187, 192, 193, 224

The only problem I can forsee is that the draft pick value chart doesn't take into account comp picks that push other picks down, for now, just use the chart as it is regardless, don't worry about it. ENJOY!!

Looks like the same rules except you are allowing trades.

That and I'm including more definite comp picks...sorry, I would've put it in the other thread, but that one's kinda crowded and no one would've read it.

OK not a problem. Didn't know if there was a problem with the other 'rules".

Adding the comp picks would be needed to be done sometime anyway. We can change it again when get a 4th instead of a 5th.

TRADES (parentheses indicate pick value)

28 and 187 (677.6) to the Falcons for 44 and 75 (675)

Falcons trade up for Ted Ginn Jr, as their recieving corps is pitiful.

75 and 123 (264) to the Browns for 67 and 194 (269.8)

24 (740) to the Texans for 39 and 71 (745)

Texans trade up for Chris Houston as they need someone opposite Dunta Robinson.

71 and 194 (249.8) to the Lions for 67 (260)

91 (136) to the Saints for 121 and 122 (103)

39. Michael Griffin, FS, Texas
44. Michael Bush, RB, Louisville
66. David Harris, ILB, Michigan
67. Josh Wilson, CB, Maryland
121. Zak DeOssie, ILB, Brown
122. Quincy Black, OLB, New Mexico
160. Daniel Sepulveda, P, Baylor
165. Courtney Brown, CB, Cal-Poly
192. Dan Santucci, OG, Notre Dame
193. Tyler Palko, QB, Pittsburgh
224. Anthony Waters, ILB, Clemson

This is great. If we do enough of these, I'm sure to look like a genius somewhere. No?

NE trades the 24th, 123rd, and 187th pick in the draft (740+49+17.6=806.6) to TB for 35th, 64th and 215th picks (550+250+6.4=806.4). The sixth for the seventh is hardly necessary but I'm a stickler for rules. I assumed that 20 comp picks would be awarded in rounds three through six.

NE trades the 28th pick in the draft to the Seahawks for the 55th and a 2008 second rounder.

35. Brandon Siler, ILB
55. Jason Hill, WR
64. Tanard Jackson, FS
91. Zak DeOssie, OLB
160. Courtnay Brown, CB
165. CJ Gaddis, FS
192. Anthony Waters, ILB
193. Desmond Bishop, ILB
215. Prescott Burgess, ILB
224. Jeff Rowe, QB

Mavfan, unlike some here, I actually like mocks with trades. But that assumes it's a full mock of every team so the trade can proceed as a consequence of the way the board is developing. E.g. "ok, there are 3 blue-chip DTs in this draft, the 2nd just came off the board so a team in desperate need of a tackle may want to slide up here ahead of..." etc.

In this format it's too easy to just engineer convenient trades with foreknowledge of the picks that will follow. E.g., you happen trade up exactly 4 spots to #67 when, by a remarkable coincidence, Josh Wilson would have been off the board at 68.

Can I suggest a rule amendment that you have to specify why the other team makes the trade? Who do the Falcons and Texans see in round 1 worthy of a trade up?

How about you allow for reaches and player slips you should allow a us to pick a play 5 spots above in the first 2 rounds 10 in 3 and 15 after that which I think is realistic? any takers

and Drafttek.com has a great list for the team needs by priority that would be grat for draft help.
