His Pro Day is today. Thought I'd start this thread early, as Revis' workout will affect our #24 pick.
Revis didn't run or work out at the Combine, but is considered to be in the 4.54 40 range. If he times much faster, he may solidify a top 23 selection, therefore eliminating him as a possibility at #24. I'm expecting him to time in the 4.45 - 4.52 range but -- the slower the better for us. Widely considered to be one of the top 3 CBs, IMO his speed doesn't hinder his ability to play the position. I have Revis and Hall as the best fits for the Pats, followed by lesser rated CBs. The hope here is, Hall and Houston to be the first CBs selected, dropping Revis to the Pats at #24. Tick, tick, tick...

I hope he does well but not too well. I think he his as close to Ty Law coming out as I've seen and I like him better than Hall. I will be interested in his numbers.

I don't even really like Hall all that much, and I don't see all the hype.

This year's CB class is underwhelming, at the top. The guys who are good at man coverage aren't good at zone, and the guys who are good at zone coverage aren't good at man. Some of the guys who are actually good at both either didn't live up to their hype, had injury problems, or disciplinary problems.

How inconvenient of him. It seems like all of my solid 1st-round prospects keep mucking things up by working out like...solid 1st-round prospects.
Landry once looked remotely possible at 24, or Carriker, or at least Willis. Now Staley and Meachem and Revis have to go and put up gaudy numbers. (I had high hopes when Chris Houston seemed to be leapfrogging Revis after the combine.) Where's a gal to turn? |

Lord, if I was younger.....
I was actually thinking the exact same thing. The top of my wish list looks like: 1. Carriker 2. Revis 3. Meachem 4. Spencer And I'm thinking none of them will be available, which is why I've been advocating Ben Grubbs at #24 as of late. A trade-up to Carriker or Revis is looking like an attractive option.

Well only 23 can go off the board before we pick. With all these great pro-days, I guess maybe some schmuck like Gaines Adams will drop to us??? |

His pro day was Wednesday. He did 21 reps + drills but stood by his combine #'s (and I do realise that you were being ironical).

2 quick points
1. I'm more interested in a guy's cone times and 10 yd dash time. How well they move their hips and how explosive they are after breaking on the ball (make up speed) and how athletic they are when the ball is in the air, are ALL more important than the damned 40 they are talking about. 2. Ya think the personel men in the league aren't aware that all these great times have something to do with all the great coaching these kids get PRIOR to the combine, and don't really translate on the field... AND don't ya think they are a bit suspicious that all these guys do so well at their home Pro days..Ya think ![]() |
