According to Albert Breer. The Pats have scheduled a private workout for DL Adam Carriker on March 20.
I always felt that this guy could be the next RS. They would probably have to trade up using both #1's to get this guy. I think it would be worth it personally. Plus TW is going to be a UFA next year.

I would draft Carriker but I wouldn't give up both first rounders for him. Both first rounders for a DE, who's only prospect is at DE? He can't play OLB, and would be a backup to Warren, and Seymour for at least two years....
I would draft him at 24 if he fell, and maybe throw in a late round pick to move up a few spots for him, but that's it. I'm a Nebraska fan so I probably like him more than most of you, but I wouldn't make that trade.
If you're going to give up both first rounders do it for someone like Landry, or Willis.

Depending on who drafts Carriker, he may indeed be able to play OLB in a 3-4. His short shuttle and 3-cone compare very well with true LBs 50-60 pounds lighter. He ran 4.75 at his Pro-day after dropping 5 lbs, who knows if another 10 or so wouldn't let him do it consistently? 6'6" 290-ish with his change of direction speed is an elite OLB prospect who could easily be converted back to 3-4 DE if he didn't pan out - nice to have a solid fallback position on a LB conversion project. If it was my call, I'd have him do some LB drills in that private workout and ask him to crunch some tape with me from a LB perspective.

Always! It's like that 270 lb CB the Pats just signed, crazy!

LOL, he would be the ultimate strong side OLB although I don't see that happening. Like others I wouldn't trade two #1s for him. I can see Belichick being intrigued by having a guy who could play DE if Seymour or Warren got hurt - also imagine this 4-3 at times :

Sounds like the Klecko at ILB experiement, highly unlikely the Patriots get Carriker but if we did he would play DE (period). Maybe he drops back into coverage once or twice a season as part of zone blitz but this post is a clear indication that we are all a little too bored with the offseason.
FS Reggie Nelson - PW
OLB Earl Everett - PW
DE Anthony Spencer - INTV
FS Brandon Meriweather - W
ILB Jon Beason - PW
RB Steve Baylark - PW
WR Chris Davis - PW
OLB Lawrence Timmons - PW
CB Usama Young - PW
DE Adam Carriker - W
DE Jay Moore - W
OLB Stewart Bradley - W
OT Joe Staley - PW
I like every player on the list, at various value points.

Party pooper.
