Default JaMarcus Russell declares for draft

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2723407

Quote:
Louisiana State quarterback JaMarcus Russell will skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft in April.

A news conference is scheduled Wednesday to announce the decision, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Sunday.

Russell, a 6-foot-6, 260-pounder from Mobile, Ala., was the nation's No. 3-ranked quarterback in passing efficiency this season. He threw for a career-high 332 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers' 41-14 victory over Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl on Wednesday night.

Russell will finish his LSU career with 6,525 yards and 52 touchdowns in three seasons -- two as a full-time starter.
I still think the Raiders will take Quinn.

Big DE from Arkansas too. Just keep coming out fellas. Make this as deep a draft as possible. Waiting to hear from; C.Johnson,A.Peterson and A.Branch.
I think a couple Gators will declare too. R.Nelson and J.Moss. DT from LSU might be a first rounder too. G.Dorsey. Another key player in this draft is Brohm. The qb from Louisville. If he comes out. He will be drafted before we pick.

I'm surprised the two big t's are staying in college. J.Long and S.Baker. Both would have probably be taken before we pick.

Hope someone falls in love with T.Smith on draft day. And, they do a stupid trade like Baltimore did in 03. We get a 2 and their 1 the following year. I'd love to do something like that with Cleveland if they take a dl first. Hell, I'd take their 3 this year. And one in 08 for our top pick. Good chance that pick will be in Top 5.

Russell coming out pushes everyone down a slot, which is good for us.

Yes and with TIKI retiring from the Giants that pushed them down another slot. Good news.

any early projections or opinions on who we are going to get? I know not everyone has declared yet, so looking for mainly opinions. Personally, I think we should look at a top MLB, or CB (pending we don't sign Asante back).

With Petrino gone to the Falcons, will Brohm declare? That will push everyone else down another slot.
Great year to have 2 ones...........

The big defensive end out of Arkansas is Jamaal Anderson he led the SEC in sacks with 13 1/2 this year.
