Default Drafttek's 2011 2 rd mock draft

5. Adrian Clayborn 3-4DE Iowa(Raiders Pick)
26. Von Miller 3-4OLB Texas A&M
43. Noel Devine RB West Virginia
58. Rodney Hudson OG Florida State

Im just putting this out here. Its seems like an OK Draft but i think BB could do better, but knowing BB he will trade down like he did the past 2 drafts.

Thats actually quite horrible.

If Oak ends up in the top 5 I would bet they trade out, but if they didn't I would have to go Cam Heyward. Crick (if he can prove he is worth it w/o Suh)would be my #2 target. DE is by far the #1 priority going into next years draft. The OLBs can't play if the DL can't soak up lineman.

Von Miller is a good player but at 6'2 240, I don't see him holding up in a 2 gap system. I might go OT in this spot. If Demarcus Love plays well this season I could see him as a possible target for RT.

With 2 picks in the 2nd round go after another OLB and a RB. Devine is way to small, and OG isn't as much of a need as OT, OLB, RB and possibly WR.

Clayborn and Hudson are both great picks, while I wouldn't protest Devine too much - although I question whether he can handle the blocking and complicated offense.

Von Miller has no business being on the Patriots. He would get demolished trying to set the edge.

I would not draft Hudson. He is a waist bender not a knee bender and does not have a flat back.

The kid from Winconsin, Moffitt? Looks like a mini Mankins with his power and technique.

BB has never drafted a 3-4 DL that has weighed less than 300 lbs. Not sure if Clayborn has the size to play 3-4 DE. He seems a pure 4-3 DE.

Love Miller off the edge. Lots of speed and never gives up. Quinn at UNC is another intriguing option.

Devine as a replacement for Faulk is not a bad idea. Devine has speed to burn, but lacks the thinkness that Faulk has.

Hudson - I pass on completely. Not a Patriots type OL. Much better suited for Dallas's or Philly's OL than ours.

A lot can happen between now and draft day, but if I had to mock, I would do as follows:

WR Green of Georgia. If he runs well. Replacement for Moss.

DE Bailey of Miami. Provided he gets his weight and strength up. Fills the Seymour sized hole on the DL.

OT Ziemba of Auburn. If Light leaves, Vollmer moves to the left side and Ziemba takes over at RT. An absolute run blocking beast that is Patriot smart and mobile.

Trade the remaining 2nd rounder for a 2012 first rounder.

If the draft fell this way, the Pats could absolutely clean up...

DE Marcell Dareus - If he were a couple of inches taller, an ideal Seymour replacement
WR Jonathan Baldwin - Assuming Moss moves on, get a huge target outside for Brady
OG Mike Pouncey - Steps right in for Mankins or Neal
OLB Da'Quan Bowers - Inconsistent at Clemson but too good a skill set to pass on late in the 2nd

Tighten up the RB position in FA and later in the draft. The only question would be OT if Light moves on, but there are young candidates on the roster and the LT-in-waiting in Vollmer.

Love the Green and Bailey picks. Not familiar with Ziemba but I think we do need a RT, which is why I was really high on Bulaga this year.

Dareus was used last year primarily as a pass rusher. This year he will need to prove he can play the run and still rush the passer. If he does that, then even without the extra inches, he still should be considered a replacement for Seymour.

Baldwin had a great season last year. If he builds off that and has another great season, then I have not trouble with BB taking him.

I am not a fan of either Pouncey. They are leaners and products of that funky Florida blocking scheme making it hard to project them in our zone scheme. Maybe with Tebow gone, Florida will put in a new blocking scheme and we can evaluate him more traditionally.

Bowers has huge potential as that off the edge pass rusher we have been lacking for years, but coming from the 4-3, I can't see BB taking him after passing on hundreds of others in the last 5 drafts or so. If Bowers puts it all together, he could be really special.

I like Moffitt as well, but Wisniewski (G/C) from PSU is my big-10 guy.

As for Clayborn, he and Allen Bailey are going to be maybe a few pounds undersized but I love their game.
