Default Darn it. Kill the Quarterback. Kill the Quarterback

Fu** it. Kill the quarterback! Kill the quarterback! I want me some JPP. I want to see some freak just work the edges and be the D player I can't keep my eyes off of. The wing span alone is good for some horse collars. Batting down passes. Exploding around the corner. I'm a believer in this guy. Sure ...raw, small resume.
My "people" tell me the Patriots love his athletic ability. They see a future Demarcus Ware in him...but two years down the line.
Face it. Any rookie OLB/DE will be subject to a learning curve and may not show results on the field for at least a season. These are large BOYS getting use to their oversized bodies...competing against MEN.
I'm tired of watching Burgess lock up against an O lineman and stop moving his feet. Watching AD running around the field like a chicken without its head. Its time for the Pats to get a player on D that teams MUST deal with. Seymour was that guy.
Gosselin has him going at #15. If so, this is doable. Jacksonville at #10 (#22, #44, #119). San Fran at #13 (#22, #47),. Seattle at #14 (#22, #53).
Get him BB. Mold him BB.

I wouldn't spend a first rnd pick on someone that had ONE year of production. To me thats not enough time, i want to see someone produce in the bigs for a couple of years not a couple of months. I think JPP has bust written all over him.

You sound crazy, but I still like your thinking. VERY high risk pick, but having a physical freak roaming around as an elephant type LB could give our D a dimension that has been sorely lacking.

That being said, I doubt BB would trade up in the first for such an unknown quantity. Also, I think BB drafted Crable to fill a similar role and he seems to still be hoping Crable can get on the field and be the guy who can beat his man on the edge.

Here's a little problem.

Let's just accept for the moment that we're looking for an athletic freak to "explode around the corner." And let's accept that Pierre-Paul is a prospect who has to be evaluated in large part on measurables, since he has so little experience. Then we should be looking for explosiveness measures, right? The standards being vertical jump and 10-yard split, yes?

Well, Pierre-Paul's numbers are pretty lousy: 30.5" 1.65.

Personally, I like my measurables freaks to have good measurables.

I heard a rumor that NE might be looking to move up to target JPP. I hope to god this isn't true, I would literally be sick if this happens. This guy is Vernon Gholston without the college production OR measurables. Please let Jacksonville take him & let Graham fall to us.

You've convincingly made the case. If we want to "kill the QB", then it is as simple as drafting one JPP. As if we need even more proof of this, there's even a video of him doing backflips.

I would vomit, but I have faith that he won't reach. He's been too conservative with picks on defense as in not making them.

Wow, he left the ground!!

Of course "he can jump." My point was just that people are promoting the player as a super-raw prospect with amazing measurables, but in fact his key measurables aren't so amazing. Basically, he's a small notch below Carlos Dunlap on almost every measurable.

Dunlap has some character question marks, but easily outpaces Pierre-Paul on experience, technique and accomplishments. (And it's worth remembering that Pierre-Paul comes from the juco ranks for a reason -- he couldn't qualify for college academically, and is reported to have some serious intellectual limitations.)

" "Central Florida liked him enough to offer a football scholarship, but he failed the FCAT, the standardized test for Florida students. The scholarship went away.

"When I asked Pierre-Paul why he failed, he answered honestly. "I was raised speaking French-Creole as a Haitian," he said. "The English was hard for me. On the reading, I couldn't comprehend the vocabulary." "
