I know what a franchise player is but what is a transition player and who do we have this may affect?
thanks

A transition player is a franchise player with two major differences:
(1) The required tender is lower (average of top ten players, not top five).
(2) No draft compensation if the player leaves (i.e., all it gives a team is right of first refusal).
Given the brouhaha over Steve Hutchinson and poison pills, it's basically useless.
