Thompson is probably a better tackler (one of the best tackling corners) but I doubt that he is nearly as fast as Wilhite. They speculated during the live coverage that Thompson does not trust his speed and therefor has a tendency to open up his hips early. Wilhite has the speed, he just lacks ball skills.
