Default Jonathan Stewart: Get er done

If the Patriots want a power back with skills, target Stewart.
5'10"....235 lbs....22 yrs old...2 yrs pro...1st round ,13th pick
1131 yds...5.1 ave...10 TDs rushing....18 catches...139 yds...1TD
Had a monster year end as a starter rushing for 440 yds in final three games against Vikings, Giants, Saints
Stewart has been Deangelo Williams back up for two years and superb sub. No coincidence that the Panthers starting winning when Stewart was the feature back. I see a young Cory Dillon...down hill runner, breaks tackles, hungry...a beast.
Would Carolina be willing to part with Stewart? A team with no passing game needed 2 big backs this past year...but with incentive?...who knows.
I'd start with #42 pick and Maroney, but would be willing to add picks. This guy could be the answer for years to come

I see no reason why Carolina would want to trade Stewart. Why acquire Maroney when they can simply keep their own player. They've too much of a good thing going with Williams and Stewart--having two running backs is the trend.

Williams is a free agent in 2011 and Stewart in 2013.

I think Belichick would prefer to draft another running back.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but why the heck would Carolina do that?

Instead of Stewart why not go all out and get Adrian Peterson?
Edit: before some idiot quotes me, ^ that was a joke.

Yeah Carolina wouldn't do this.

Best case is he becomes available when his rookie contract is up, I assume he has at least 2 more years on that, and I don't think we should wait that long if Maroney isn't the guy of the future!

Yeah, come back Barry, you're not that old.

I think they should offer Matt Slater, Terrence Wheatley, and their third 2nd rounder for Darrelle Revis. He and Stewart would be good additions. Joe Thomas would upgrade the o-line. Get r done.

On a more serious note, Marion Barber seems to be looking like he needs a new home. Felix Jones is making a bigger and bigger impact in the running game, while Barber is constantly banged up. Obviously, this is a guy that you hope has something in the tank and could shake the injury bug when you sign him. I'm thinking of good ol' Antowain Smith when I think of Barber.

Barry "dances" too much. I'd rather get Jim Brown.
