Default FA DBs: who's available?

It seems to me that the three areas of concern for this offseason are LB, DB, and the running game. Of those three, I'd most want to have veteran help at DB, as opposed to newly drafted rookies. Does anyone have a good list of who's available on the FA market this year at corner and safety? Anyone worth picking up, or are we going to have to spend draft picks to shore up that hole?

For free agents, 3 come to mind: Ty Law, Charles Woodson, and Nate Clements. I would at least explore the possibility. However, was it me or did Ty gain a lot of weight?

Clements is easily the most desirable on that list. But I'm not sure if we can (or would) pony up on the $$$ for him.

Any thoughts on Brian Williams from the Vikings? Just 26 years old and has shown some good talent.

Converted college FS, that works in his favor. Do we know anything about why his tackles slipped last season? Looks like he may have lost two games to injury, but that doesn't account for the decline in numbers...though you have to like his int/ff production.

There's also this tidbit from Reese the other day:

He has worked for the Rams (1993-94, offensive assistant/running backs); Eagles (1995-98, defensive assistant), Packers (1999, defensive assistant), and Vikings (2000-2005). He started as a defensive assistant with the Vikings (2000), then worked with outside linebackers (2001) and defensive backs (2002-2004) before being promoted to coverage coordinator in 2005.
One wonders if the Tice discussion was wide enough in scope to include the DBs working for the "coverage coordinator"?

Default FA DB's

Don't forget that Branch is the only legit WR under contract.

That FA list of DB's makes me want to go the draft route.

My Wish List in Order

CB's

Nate Clements- shutdown corner, may be too expensive, maybe the bills will franchise him and we can give them our first rounder for him, everyone says safety is a bigger need, but if you think about it, having a shutdown corner will speed up the development of our safeties, think about how much eugene wilson improved when he had Ty Law here

Brian Williams- exactly what we need, physical, smart corner

Ty Law- may have to convert to safety? will he get along with BB?

Ike Taylor- got torn up in the super bowl, stock is going down

Ricky Manning- like Asante Samuel, solid, but unspectacular

in the draft.....

Jimmy Williams- may have to convert to FS, any chance hes there at 21?

Antonio Cromartie- can he bounce back from injury?

SS

Adam Archuleta- solid vet, may be too expensive

Tank Williams- huge, young, big hitter, but still a bit raw

Corey Chavous- solid vet, stats have really declined in recent years

in the draft....

noone really, but Daniel Bullocks is interesting (may be more of a FS)

LB

Cato June- is restricted, will the colts lets him walk? great in coverage

Will Witherspoon- same as above, but unrestricted

Akin Ayodele- hard hitter, racks up tackles, just solid overall

Bart Scott- young, inconsistent, had a breakout season

Scott Fujita- stats have gone down, but is still pretty good

to trade for....

Lavar Arrington- has the physical tools to be the best linebacker in the league, just needs to get his head screwed on right, what would we have to give for him? id give up our second,

in the draft....

Chad Greenway- probably wont be there at 21, the next mike vrabel, does everything

Kai Parham- run stopper, good backup for a year or two, then will move into starting lineup

I like K Parham a lot. He had a decent year, especially considering that Brooks wasn't around much. He needs work on shedding and some work on coverages, but he's a solid 3-4 ILB. I'm sure San Diego, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and the Jets are all aware of this guy as well. In my book he's a 3rd rounder in terms of talent, but someone may take him higher because he's an experienced 3-4 ILB. If he's sitting thee at the end of round 2, I would expect Pittsburgh to get interested in him.
