Default Alphonso Smith CB Wake Forest

He is a smaller CB with unusual quickness and somewhat sturdy against the run. I heard a lot of scouts about him this past weekend. A couple think he would be the #2 CB in this draft class if he were 3 inches taller.

It was the phrase "unusual quickness" that made me think, these are the guys that BB loves on the corners, but it is hard to think he would spend a first round pick on a 5'9" guy, when he can get a dozen others in the 3rd or 4th round just like him.

It will be interesting to see how he runs at the combine.

It's really too early to tell. But, he's a guy that I think we would consider. Maybe, we can get him with SD 2nd rounder.

According to Athlon Magazine he was preseason 1st team All-American, coming off an 8 INT season.

I think GBN has him ranked in the top 20.
