Default Mankins

He is a free agent after 2009, is he worth top dollar to extend? I would rather look at Wilfork.

Mankins has been getting his butt kicked lately.

He's had his moments this season to be sure, but he's still a quality OG. If he wants to hold out for high bidder he'll be gone, so far none of the re-signed O-line (Light, Koppen, Neal) have gone high bidder, I expect Mankins and Kaczur to make good money without breaking the bank to stay.

And before you Kaczur haters whine in, he's a 4 year starter at both tackle positions - he's got the Scarnecchia/Belichick vote of confidence. You may now whine to your heart's content.

Speaking of Mankins, aren't you all more concerned about Koppen getting blown up a few times every game????

Now that you mention it, I have noticed both of them getting blown up due to bad angle/ leverage. I think Koppen might get out muscled more than Mankins. With Mankins he can just get outsmarted or schemed but he usually kicks ass one on one.

I do agree that Mankins has not displayed the domination he has in the past, but I can't really remember him getting his butt kicked. What did I miss?

There's been a couple times, my concern isn't the odd FUBAR moment, but one of the games where he played like he was Billy Yates.

Ouch! that is as cruel a comment as any I have ever read from you.

I will start watching Mankins more closely, maybe he is hiding an injury.

I think this is likely.
I've stated this before but...
How many games has Logan missed since he arrived?
Not many, if any.
Meanwhile everyone else on the OL has missed significant time.
Yeah, I think he may be playing through a lingering injury.
Only he and BB know for sure.

The guy is HORRIBLE at pass blocking.

His agility and recognition are below average, any good DT or DE can destroy him.

He is a good run blocker because he is strong and mean, but pass blocking is a whole different animal.

The amazing thing is he didn't say it to be arrogant...he was sincere...I went home and told everyone about it." - Bob Kraft

The next time I'm fortunate enough to get the game on out here, I'm going to watch for the pass blocking Logan is doing.

He doesn't usually take on DEs but he definitely takes on DTs and from what I've seen before, he's done well. Blitzing linebackers can give him trouble because it seems like he always gets caught off guard or out of position. This is where recognition comes in.

If you can point to a particular play where Logan gets one on one pancaked I'd like to hear it.
