Default McDonald's: Great move!

McDonald’s Set to Become the Biggest Children’s Book Distributor in the UK | Team Mom - Yahoo! Shine

This is not really political, but what a great/smart move by McDonalds.

The fact is that people are going to buy happy meals for their kids whether you like it or not. At least a book is a lot more positive than a crappy toy.

People can eat what they want. I am sure there are plenty of people in this forum that when posting about the evils of food are sitting at their computer smoking a cigarette.

Close...
I'm drinking a beer and smoking a joint listening to Olde Crow Medicine Show.

Smoking a cigarette, drinking a pepsi, cooking a big pot of sausage/meatball spaghetti and trying to decide between blueberry pie or ice cream for dessert.

That being said - good for McDonalds!! That's an absolutely brilliant idea.

McDonalds now gives you the info you need to decide if you want to get fat - the calorie counts are right on the menu. You don't think I've bought a grilled chicken or two I didnt want when I read the double quarter pounder calorie count? Why does that sound so good... mmmm double quarter pounder...

Turkey sammich for dinner folks. Cut me some slack.

.
I have a 14 yo daughter who, before she turned 13, would basically order what I did, plus a coke and a sundae. Now she looks at the calorie count, gets a small cheeseburger or grilled chicken and a diet coke.

While I don't want her to stress about body image (she's in good shape, but try and tell a 14 year old girl that!!) i'm glad she understands that her life will be about choices. The Mc menu reinforces that.

It's probably 70% marketing, PR and keeping ahead of the regulators, but it works.

I agree, it's a very smart business decistion by Mickey-D's. But I'll forever be an anti-McDonald's person....I think Ronald abused my mind as a yute.
