Jefferson puzzles me, on one hand he has been portrayed as "benevolent slave holder", and recent developments has shown he is not.

On other hand, he is frequently quoted regarding the gun control argument, but in total his commentary is at best ambivalent...

He is often quoted as some type of inspirational leader who had religious intent subtly written into the constitution, but we also know that he cut and pasted the new testament into one story, conveniently(conspicuously) leaving out the immaculate conception and resurrection..

So what is your conclusion on Jefferson based upon the 2 hands (one hand and the other) you posted above?

The first book I read on Jefferson, the author began by describing statues of Jefferson with each statue's head looking in different directions (left, right, center). His point being, Jefferson was a contradiction.
