Re: Happy Mayan New Year
I find this stuff to be completely absurd for 2 reasons. #1, the obvious that some spear chuckers from a zillion years ago would know when the world would end. And #2, unless that "calendar" actully had the date 12/21/12 inscribed on it, with "day the world ends" right next to it, how would anyone truly know what, if anything, was being predicted? I plead general ignorance here, but this Mayan crap seemed less credible than the Y2K hysteria. At least with Y2K there was some legitimate computer related theoretic concerns. Stuff like utility grids shutting down, or missle launches from system confusion. Even still my buddies and I flew to Vegas that new years which points to how concerned we were. Which is to say we weren't of course. Anyhow, watch the world end as soon as I click the post icon.
