Default Parents Tell 11 Year Old to Take a Gun to School

Really? I mean, really - an 11 year old?

His parents told him to take a .22 to school for "protection," and what did the kid do with it? What any other 11 year old would do, I suppose....Carry it around all morning, take it out of his backpack at recess, put it up to a little girl's head and tell her that if she tells anyone he has it he will kill her.

A few hours later someone notified the teacher and the child was disarmed - but it's a stellar example of what can happen in the name of "self-protection."

After reading that article I have one question.

So let me get this straight:

The police and school administrators release the name of the girl who was threatened, but not the name of the boy (or his parents) who made the threat?

Makes sense in a society that allows assault weapons to be sold to the general public.

More of a stellar example of what can happen when siblings mate.

Utah, huh?

So, alcohol in the hands of 11 year olds is far more dangerous. He could have brought a knife too. Whats next, ban kids from using knives at lunch to cut their meat?

edit: Oh yeah, if the teacher had a gun the kid could have been blown away.

Little below the belt there....lol but still funny.

I live in Uath about 20mins out of SLC and this story has more do to with the parents not locking their guns up....Now where have I heard this before....wait for it....oh yeah! It just happened in another town a few days ago...and 26 people are dead because of it...

All the reports are still fresh and things can change, from my understanding the the kid told the school that his parents told him to bring the gun but he could just be lying to try and shift blame so he doesn't have to take it. He did pull the gun out at lunch time I think and did point it at a few students, so much for teaching your kid about guns and to respect them...

IMO the 11 year old shouldn't be charged his parents on the other hand should have the book thrown at them....The boy should be put in PS and stay there till he's 18. The parents should have all their guns taken away and charged with a felony.

Love the wonders of Southern Utah, imo the most beautiful part of this country, but the folks who work in the service are nauseatingly patronizing.. good morning sir, would you like to see a menu this wonderful morning, great day to have a nice breakfast with us, gee whiz that is wonderful choice sir I will gladly place your order and get the food to you as fast as I can..

Have a wonderful, super day..
