Well, not really.....Pretty funny stuff, we will become the #1 oil producer by 2030.....Now what was all that talk about Obama cutting oil production? All those lies the right told themselves, so they could sleep at night....
Reality hurts......So suck it up and then man up!
I'm a staunch left-leaner, but this is where I diverge.
The claim is a fluffy myth, and there's nothing the right nor the left can do about the math.
I'll be happy to explain why, citing numerous links. But the main energy paradigm denialist here is gone, and I'm not sure the rest of you wanna hear the gory details again.
The short version:
We have a lot of "oil," if you want to call oil from shale "oil." But the reality is it is crap-grade oil (synthetic) that requires enormous cost and a disturbingly violent process to shake loose.
We may well pass Saudi Arabia and Russia as the world's top "producer." But that will have far more to do with their depletion than our expansion. And by then it won't really matter.
Either way, it's still junk. And producing ever more of it will only make costs increase, NOT decrease.
As I've said many times: "I can pretend I've found 100 trillions barrels behind the moon, but that says nothing about my capacity to bring it to market."
