Sexual orientation, homosexuality and bisexuality

Finally, I have a few gay friends I've discussed this with. Each said their sexual orientation was (A.) not a matter of choice and (B.) something they realized before entering puberty.

In my humble opinion, evidence both scientific and anecdotal overwhelmingly points to homosexuality being inherent -- not "learned," "conditioned," a "disorder" or a matter of choice. Of course, there are numerous well-written Christian websites that attempt to argue otherwise.

It might boil down to WHAT you CHOOSE to believe. But I find myself wondering why anyone would want to view homosexuality as a "disorder" or "illness" -- especially when so many gays/lesbians are productive members of society whose sexual preference (like us straights) manifests almost exclusively in the bedroom. It is nobody's business but theirs.

It's like the abortion debate: Are you anti-abortion? Fine. Just don't have one. Are you anti-gay? Fine. Don't befriend one.

I just want to know why 2 chicks making out is so much hotter than 2 guys......and this notion is gender independent.......everyone (M or F) I know thinks so......

is it just that chicks are so much hotter than guys in general? even hetro chicks sometimes like making our with other chicks than guys......does that even make sense?

Isn't the mind a product of nature or god? Thus, anything the mind can imagine is intended by nature or god?

Thank you!

I am on record in the forum as saying look no further than the animal kingdom to see examples just about everywhere ... it's part of evolution and as Jerry Seinfeld was fond of saying "Not that there's anything wrong with that."

The thing I can't wrap my head around is the genetics of it. Traits that reduce the likelihood of reproducing (i.e. reduce the likelihood of being passed on) should over time diminish in occurrence unless they are due to a frequently-occurring mutation. Maybe it is due to a set of genes that express as preference for the same sex only in particular combinations?

We've ran huge genetic screen between straight and gay people. No indication of a gay gene.

In my opinion it's down to hormonal imbalances in the brains development during pregnancy, imbalances which are due to chance and happenstance than any preordained genetic input.

Could be something as simple as X hormone not being produced for whatever reason (blocked channel, you name it).

The Patriots have been overachievers the past two years. It doesn't have the talent to compensate for injuries, and it wins so much because it puts in 99% effort in the regular season and plays with terrific schemes to mask its deficiencies.

But in the playoffs a good team at 99% will not beat emotional, talented teams that play at 100%. It's what happened against the Giants in 2011 and the Ravens in 2012.
