Default Chris Matthews: "I'm so glad we had that storm last week."

Every once in a while, some moonbat somewhere slips up and says what they are really thinking, like when that Obama aide said Obama simply "doesn't like people."

Well Mush-Mouth Matthews must have been feeling the tingle up his leg pretty strong because he let loose with this gem:

"I'm so glad we had that storm last week because I think the storm was one of those things. No, politically I should say. Not in terms of hurting people. The storm brought in possibilities for good politics

Matthews is an idiot. He did apologize, but really that comment by him was beyond insensitive.

I don't even pay attention to this guy anymore ... he's a left version of Rush and Hannity.

I would say "Midwestern depression Aiken" and "cow pattie storm Murdoch" had more to do with the outcome than Sandy. Lets all hope everyone down there is getting help now, not just attention.

The actual quote.. not that it would be taken out of context..

Is that a magical version of the quote WP posted?

What am I missing?

If he said it, he's dumb.

As Icy said, Chris is the Left's Rush.

it's a dumb quote....you should never be glad for a natural disaster that has even the chance to kill anyone

While I agree it was a terrible thing for Matthews to say - he was only politically agreeing with high-ranking Republicans like Carl Rove and Haley Barbour.

Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour on Sunday joined the chorus of Republicans suggesting that Hurricane Sandy could help President Obama and hurt Mitt Romney politically.

Quote:
“The hurricane is what broke Romney’s momentum,” Barbour said on CNN’s State of the Union. “I don’t think there’s any question about it. Any day that the news media is not talking about jobs and the economy; taxes and spending; deficit and debt; Obamacare and energy; is a good day for Barack Obama.”

On Friday, Republican strategist Karl Rove told The Washington Post that Sandy would help Obama. “If you hadn't had the storm, there would have been more of a chance for the Romney campaign to talk about the deficit, the debt, the economy. There was a stutter in the campaign. When you have attention drawn away to somewhere else, to something else, it is not to his [Romney's] advantage,” Rove told the paper.
