Default Chris Christie - Mad Props

Setting aside the terrible job he did a few years ago during a winter storm, Christie seems to be on his game this time...Praising the efforts of the state and federal level in doing his job to lead his state through this disaster, even when politically baited by FOX news.

After praising the work of Obama the fox team tried to inject Romney, Christie was having none of it.

Quote:
"Over the last couple of months, you have appeared throughout the country, Governor, on behalf of Mitt Romney," Doocy remarked to Christie. "[W]e hear that perhaps Mr. Romney may do some storm-related events. Is there any possibility that Gov. Romney may go to New Jersey to tour some of the damage with you?"

"I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested," Christie replied, immediately shutting down the idea. "I've got a job to do here in New Jersey that's much bigger than presidential politics and I could [sic] care less about any of that stuff."

"I have a job to do," he added. "I've got 2.4 million people out of power, I've got devastation on the shore, I've got floods in the northern part of my state. If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics then you don't know me."
To be fair, he forgot to add "I have an election next year" but its good to see the Governor Governing.

Imagine having to do that. So unfair!

Obama faced the delicate task of balancing his response to a potentially huge natural disaster with his own tough re-election effort as Hurricane Sandy bore down on the East Coast days before Election Day.
Oh noes! Imagine having to actually "do your job"!

yeah..I'd say all leadership so far has done a good job of putting aside politics to make sure the situation is under control. Christie, Bloomberg, Obama and the local police, fire and rescure have coordinated well.

Mayor Booker gets the MVP, dude is a hulk...

He has been campaigning since his first day in office. I don't thik it is too much to expect him to actually do his job for a few days.

slightly OT:

Meanwhile, Romney is gathering canned goods that the Red Cross publicly stated it is more expensive and time consuming to use.

Quote:
The American Red Cross does not accept or solicit small quantities of individual donations of items for emergency relief purposes. Items such as collections of food, used clothing, and shoes often must be cleaned, sorted, and repackaged which impedes the valuable resources of money, time, and personnel that are needed for other aspects of our relief operation.
He is talking to voters in OHIO, about how he isn't doing politics....

If he was running a book club, you could give him props for trying. Dude is running for President.

Keeping with the slight sidetrack: What exactly did that Bus do?

Corey Booker rescued 30 homeless people with his twitter account and some rescue workers. What exactly did the Romney Bus do? I heard nothing. The only thing I can find is that it "distributed supplies"

whatever that did...
