Labor Department May Delay Jobs Report - Real Time Economics - WSJ

Quote:
The U.S. Labor Department on Monday said it hasn’t made a decision yet on whether to delay Friday’s October jobs report, the final reading on the labor market before next week’s federal elections.

A Labor official said the agency will assess the schedule for all its data releases this week when the “weather emergency” is over.
That piggy backed with this...

Goolsbee then admits that last month’s jobs report was “artificially too optimistic” — an “unbelievable outlier,” in other words.

The NFP report will IMO be delayed a week to hide the bad news (revisions) until AFTR the election.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."

The Patriots have been overachievers the past two years. It doesn't have the talent to compensate for injuries, and it wins so much because it puts in 99% effort in the regular season and plays with terrific schemes to mask its deficiencies.

But in the playoffs a good team at 99% will not beat emotional, talented teams that play at 100%. It's what happened against the Giants in 2011 and the Ravens in 2012.

Yeahhhhh once again, unemployment notched down right around the beginning of October. By Gallup's 3-day rolling poll, it went from 7.8% (which matched the national number,) to fluctuating in the 7.3-7.5 range. You'll love today's: 7.1.

And the beauty part is, whatever crap comes from this storm, it'll be reflected in the November numbers. I dunno, maybe the contractors will make a mint. Sure seems like they would. But then, businesses will go under and others will lay off, the impact of a couple weeks without power or the need to fix up a physical plant, for a company already on the brink.

If they get it out, it'll be a good report. I hope they do.

Not that I consider those numbers an accurate reflection of the true numbers, but the fact that you're actually in here gloating over an unemployment report in the 7's shows just how pathetic and abysmal the Obama administration has been.

B. Hussein Ofailure: Where 7% unemployment is a tremendous achievement worthy of gloating and celebration.
