Best wishes and thoughts to those in the storm's path
I was looking online of photos showing flooding already in parts of Queens and Manhattan, and read that the Hudson may surge up to 11 feet. This storm is a monster that is sure to devastate the lives of many people.
Many of us live on the outskirts of this giant storm's path (I live in Cambridge), but some of us live right in the storm's path or have friends and family in the storm's path. I thought a thread where people could post about this storm would be appropriate -- their experiences, their best wishes for others, their prayers.
I consider myself an atheist, as many of you know, but in times of real trouble I always say a prayer to God. While the likelihood of God is remote in my view, I know there have been men and women far smarter than me who believe in God, so dear God let this storm pass over us quietly without taking lives and homes. Amen.

Doesn't hurt Patters to say a prayer -
it's always possible there might be some good notes on you in the heaven database.

Well in NW Jersey we are getting winds of ~40 mph gusts 50-60, highest winds for the next 4 hrs getting up to the 45 mph, lost power for 5 minutes.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
