Default Best wishes and thoughts to those in the storm's path

I was looking online of photos showing flooding already in parts of Queens and Manhattan, and read that the Hudson may surge up to 11 feet. This storm is a monster that is sure to devastate the lives of many people.

Many of us live on the outskirts of this giant storm's path (I live in Cambridge), but some of us live right in the storm's path or have friends and family in the storm's path. I thought a thread where people could post about this storm would be appropriate -- their experiences, their best wishes for others, their prayers.

I consider myself an atheist, as many of you know, but in times of real trouble I always say a prayer to God. While the likelihood of God is remote in my view, I know there have been men and women far smarter than me who believe in God, so dear God let this storm pass over us quietly without taking lives and homes. Amen.

Doesn't hurt Patters to say a prayer -

it's always possible there might be some good notes on you in the heaven database.

Be careful Patters, they've planted trees all over Cambridge, God Willing you will avoid falling branches.

Ding Dongs use the trees for looking in bedroom windows, they climb up then hide in the brances and watch people undress.

Bless Thee

Well in NW Jersey we are getting winds of ~40 mph gusts 50-60, highest winds for the next 4 hrs getting up to the 45 mph, lost power for 5 minutes.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."

Reports are unconfirmed that the NY Stock Exchange floor is flooded 3-4 feet.

If so, and if major trading grinds to a halt for a week (low estimate)... might we call Sandy somewhat Biblical?

I have no idea if that report is true, and I will try to check on it in the morning.

But I'm not sure if I even do hope it's not true.

Might be a nice excuse to reset. Wash the system. Start anew.

But Romney won't ever have that. Wall St. must be maintained in its current incarnation at all costs. About as likely as Gollum tossing the ring away.

In our neighborhood 35 miles west of Boston, Sandy delivered a sloppy wet blow job.

Whatever that means.

Why don't you start a thread and tell the forum what Hamar would do from the Oval Office after next week.
