FEMA is a joke. A few years ago when we had those really bad rain storms, FEMA was out writing checks in the burbs. They went to a cousins house and just wrote him a check cuz his basement got flooded. Now, the problem isn't that they helped someone who's basement was flooded. The problem is that my cousin and his wife make six figured combined, and live in a half million dollar home, for which they have insurance. I think they got $1500 or so, which in and of itself you might say "ah, what's the big deal", but add up all the other people were they handing checks to. Sorry, but that's a joke.
