If this forum is to continue, we cannot have personal attacks. This is coming from discussions with Ian. It's his website, and he is kind enough to allow a political forum in what is actually a Patriots football website. If you cannot debate with a degree of respect and cannot honor the rules of the forum then please leave. Over the next week or so we try to enforce the rules more and more, and if that means people are banned from the forum, so be it. So, if you want to participate, please practice courtesy. This is no longer the old political forum. It's a new one, where courtesy and respect are paramount!!!

Actually, I don't know what you're talking about. I just got home from work about 30 min. ago, so I haven't even been in the forum today. But, I do know you're not being cooperative. If you want to be rude, then leave the forum on you're own. Otherwise, try to set an example, so we can focus on someone else besides you.

As long as this is actually enforced across the board, I think this can only help actual discussion (if anything can when it comes to talking Politics and Religion).

You want my wiseass opinion? All rules violations should be aired amongst the tribe.

If someone gets a demerit, it should be "public" knowledge. Not free to comment upon....but the warning Posted.

We can't enforce things perfectly, because we're not online 24/7, but we'll do our best.

It wasn't a shot against the forum moderation Patters. You guys do what you can in that regard.

Agreed. We talked at length and I felt this needs to be something that is done because it's one thing to have disagreements, it's another for a lot of the nastiness that's existed here to resume. If there are people who can't simply tolerate eachother and be respectful to one another, then you won't be banned from the site but I'll shut down your access to the Political Forum. The mods will let me know who can or can't exist in here, and I will review each one prior to removing you if a request arises. I don't care about your beliefs and there are no biases - it comes down to whether or not someone is abusive to another user. I don't want a lot of the ill-will that's been generated in here to continue any longer because it carries over - like it or not - into the football forum.

I was also involved with the mods in the rules - which we recently modified. If you haven't seen them, they're located here:

All of you also need to know that it's not about, "well he/she also said this" - be the bigger person and the one who caused the issue will be the one who suffers the consequences. And make no mistake, if the decision is made by them - it stands and it unless they change their minds, you won't be allowed back in. Although honestly this shouldn't be a big deal and you would think this should be a simple rule - just don't be nasty to eachother
