Edwards' betrayal of his wife at her most vulnerable moment -- as a cancer patient -- is more common than conventional wisdom suggests, according to infidelity experts.
A mistress of former House Speaker Gingrich told Vanity Fair they had their tryst as his first wife recovered from uterine cancer surgery in the 1980s.
While McCain was married to his first wife, who was disabled from a car accident, he was "aggressively courting a 25-year-old woman who was as beautiful as she was rich," according to a New York Times colunmist's account of the 1970s incident that predated McCain's election to the Senate.
Both McCain and Gingrich have admitted to the affairs.

Gingrich is a dirtbag like Edwards, the part about MCCain is very misleading verging on a lie. McCain wife was in the car accident while he was in the Hanoi Hilton, they were separated before he met his current wife. He was cheating on his wife after his return from the POW camp which led to the separation.
McPain's situation is very different than Edwards or Gingrich.

John McCain's infidelity will come out soon. It is a story that will shock all. John McCain's 1st wife stood by his side and waited for him while he was a POW. Then when he was released and sent to a Navy Hospital in Hawaii, his 1st wife was involved in a car accident and paralized. What did John McCain do? He went and had an affair with a Navy Nurse in Hawaii and divored his paralized wife. He then married the Navy Nurse. The Democratics know this from his bio and they will expose this actions during the General Campaign as someone who can not be trusted or depended upon. John McCain is not electable in a General Election.

The story was reported differently by the AZ Republic back in 1999:
McCain needed a divorce from his wife of 14 years, Carol, who had been badly injured in a car accident while McCain languished in Hanoi.
The marriage had been strained by his years of absence, along with McCain's admitted affairs after returning from Vietnam.
