Surprise! Jobless claims return to 18-month range … « Hot Air

Quote:
It’s funny what happens to a data series when consistency returns to its collection. Last week’s weekly jobless claims numbers dropped dramatically to nearly a four-year low, but later it was discovered that one large state didn’t report all of its claims properly. This week, the level returns to the same range we’ve seen since the spring of 2011:
Gee funny how those jobs numbers were fudged by the Alinskys just before the debate. to take steam away from the Romney narrative.

can't wait to get to 3.5% unemployment for Octobers numbers.

This was obvious when the report came out last and what I predicted.

Believe I read yesterday that the Gallup Dailies had it at 7.3%...

The right are a petulant bunch, they continue to complain about the economy and when good news comes they waste tons of energy trying to prove it wrong..

Housing starts are up, housing prices are up and it goes on..

News Summary: US retail sales up 1.1 percent - Yahoo! Finance

Quote:
SALES UP: Americans spent 1.1 percent more at retail stores in September, the Commerce Department said Monday. That followed a 1.2 percent increase in August. The gains marked the best two months for sales in two years.

PHONES AND CARS: Sales rose in almost every major category, led by another strong month of auto sales and a jump in electronic sales driven by Apple's new iPhone.

OUTLOOK: Rising retail sales reflect a surge in consumer confidence that could help strengthen growth in the second half of the year. Consumer spending drives nearly 70 percent of economic activity.
Housing starts hit 4-year high in September

Quote:
The home construction market registered "blowout" numbers in September, IHS Global Insight says.

Housing starts were up 15% from August, the Commerce Department reported, with increases in every region of the U.S. except the Northeast.

Housing permits, which are less volatile than starts and indicate future building, rose 11.6% and posted solid gains in all four U.S. regions.

California held back their numbers.

Pelosi and Obama pulling out every last trick in the book to save their own jobs. The majority of Americans arent fooled though. The McTitus's and Obama phone people wont be enough to save them.

Underemployment does not equal unemployment.. Don't worry Darryl Issa is going to convene another azz clown circus, spend millions of dollars on investigating this and in the end there will be nothing conclusive to report. Then he will start another set of hearings..

The GallupPoll publishes a twice monthly survey on employment in the U.S. and today they posted an astounding decline in the unemployment rate to 7.3%. At the end of September they reported 7.9% and at the end of July 8.2%.

Do you understand that the Washington Times was started by a cult leader specifically to attack the left?? A cult leader who spent billions of dolalrs on this daily right wing rag, that in a real world would have gone bankrupt 20 years ago. Whatever they print has a specific agenda.. intelligent people know that there is usually more to any story they print.. unintelligent people less so.

What does welfare have to do with unemployment?? Do you understand the difference, or are you in the mode that when confronted with good news you have to impulsively counter with bad.. no matter how you look at it, the numbers are getting better..
