Democrats set to move Obama's big speech
from 74,000-seater outdoor stadium to 20,000-seater indoor arena
Read more: Democrats set to move Obama's big speech from 74,000-seater outdoor stadium to 20,000-seater indoor arena | Mail Online
Have read that they are having trouble busing in enough students and folks from Black Churches (gay marriage issue?) to fill the stadium like they did in 2008. So they are going to move the speech to a much smaller venue and spin it as being whether related:
Quote:
Democrats are poised to avoid the danger of President Barack Obama accepting his party’s nomination before a partially-empty stadium by shifting his speech to an indoor arena and citing ‘severe weather’.
The Obama campaign have been working desperately to ensure that the 74,000-seater Bank of America stadium in Charlotte would be filled.
‘It looks like a done deal to me,’ said one convention worker. ‘The decision’s apparently been taken and it’s just a matter of spinning it as being forced on us by the weather.’

In other news, Romney received a 1% bump from the RNC convention. My question is, does that include the 3% margin for error?

I especially like the candid quote from the convention worker...
The old hopey changey thing is well, OLD.

Re: Democrats set to move Obama's big speech
I read in a few places that they've been handing out free tickets all over the place, in hopes of trying to fill the joint. Look, the fan fare isn't what it was in 2008. It's not even close. This election is a dead heat between two candidates no one really wants to see elected. People don't want Obama cuz they don't like where he's taking us, nor the job he's done. They don't want Romney cuz they see him as a zillionaire vulture capitalist who's changed positions with the weather. In the end, this election will be decided in the final days of the campaign.

Re: Democrats set to move Obama's big speech
Just a guess, but I'd wager that 70,000 people might have stood out in the rain in 2008 to hear Obama speak. It just happens to be 2012.
No real effect on the election; it just tells us what we already know.

“On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson..they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”
