Bin Laden Raid Book: First-Hand Account Of Navy SEAL Mission Will Be Released On Sept. 11

Not sure this is such a cool idea....but It'll be an interesting read for sure.

WASHINGTON — A member of the U.S. Navy SEAL team that killed Osama bin Laden has written a firsthand account of the operation, triggering more questions about the possible public release of classified information involving the historic assault of the terror leader's compound in Pakistan.

U.S. military officials say they do not believe the book has been read or cleared by the Defense Department, which reviews publications by military members to make sure that no classified material is revealed.

The book, titled "No Easy Day" and scheduled to be released Sept. 11, comes amid a heated debate over whether members of the military – both active duty and retired – should engage in political battles.

"I haven't read the book and am unaware that anyone in the Department has reviewed it," said Pentagon press secretary George Little. White House and CIA officials also said the book had not been reviewed by their agencies.

Releasing it on Sept. 11th is......odd....

Could be an interesting read to your point HD. Big fan of military reads, so may have to check it out.

Jawbreaker is another good read for those inclined on the subject (OBL).

Ironic that this news comes to light today, just one day after the twitter hoax regarding the SEAL who put two caps in OBL's @$$ being killed in Afghanistan.

Seems as though many military higher ups are concerned about this trend, as they do this for service to country..

A Green Beret who returned last year from Afghanistan, Lujan says that attaching the title of special operator with any political campaign is "in violation of everything we've been taught, and the opposite of what we should be doing, which is being quiet professionals."

The administration has been working on a movie with Hollywood for a film on the killing of OBL for an October release, the producers had access to classified information.

Shouldn't your anger about this movie be aimed at the DOD and CIA? Even then I didn't see much about Obama in this link Weekly Update: JW Roils Washington | Judicial Watch apart from the normal right wing hysteria about everything Obama.

Well Sen DiFi is upset with the administration about the leaks.

BTW Panetta is Def Sec and headed CIA, who do you think told them to work with the filmmaker anyway?
