Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin said he is taking over all election-related activities from the clerk's office in the Western Massachusetts town of East Longmeadow. The move follows allegations of widespread voter fraud.
Galvin will strip oversight from the town clerk and send an election monitor to oversee all voting in East Longmeadow on primary day, which is Sept. 6. “My concern is going forward to make sure the election is properly administered to protect the integrity of the election but also the rights of voters,” he said.
Galvin said an employee in the town clerk’s office allegedly changed the party affiliation of hundreds of registered voters from Democrat to Republican without their knowledge, and then cast absentee ballots on their behalf.

Another reason why I support voter ID laws. If this guy did what is alleged, I think he should be put away for a LONG time.
Don't tell anyone, but I changed over 1,000 of my town's residents affiliation to "Independent".
It instantly made all of them smarter!
Being middle class, you don't have to worry about being caught, because Republicans are only concerned about stopping the imaginary election fraud of the poor. Voter ID, they hope, will keep the poor from voting, and that in itself will reduce election fraud.

I'd like to do whatever it takes to reduce fraud....and I don't care who it affects more as long as it prevent/reduces fraud.
WP,, PR, why do you think voter ID laws would have prevented this kind of inside fraud from occuring?
Because people coming in and showing ID makes it a helluva lot less likely that, all of a sudden, some guy can take 500 or so people and have them "cast" their votes for one person or another.
I think a better question is: How can anyone think voter ID laws wouldn't help prevent this sort of massive fraud?

Because these were absentee voters -they're not coming in and showing ID - they're not coming in and showing anything - they're not coming in at all.
