Default Economies Up in Swing States

Advantage Obama and one more reason to run on his record and tone down the dirt throwing.
IMO if Obama had worked more on his companies that produce in America promise this election would be a slam dunk for him.

In swing states, economies mostly looking up | McClatchy

Quote:
In a state President Barack Obama needs to win, the incumbent should be pleased by the sales report from Tom Sarach’s staffing firm in southeast Virginia. “Last year was a record year,” said Sarach, president of Reliance Staffing, which has four offices in the Hampton Roads area. “This year we’re doing even better.
Quote:
What’s making Obama much more competitive here is the economy,” said University of Virginia political scientist Larry Sabato, the leading political guru in a state seen as a prime battleground in the 2012 election. “If you have economic conditions in Virginia that are this good and he can’t win, how can he win elsewhere?”

With polls tight and the national recovery limping along, state economies could provide the difference in Mitt Romney’s bid to unseat President Obama. While the U.S. unemployment rate gets the most attention from commentators and candidates, it’s the state-level data that best reflect what voters face on a daily basis.

So in the article the 'proof' that the economy was doing better was temp jobs'?

Really? the jobs being according the the Non Farm Payroll report have an unusually high number of part time jobs.

Wake my up when the un/under employed number goes below 15%.

Great example of media spin being passed off as news.

PF13 ... IMO the article is a good one in that let's face it ... the election boils down to the swing states. If the economy is good in a few crucial ones that helps tilt the results to Obama. My state RI it doesn't matter how bad we are ... Obama gets our electorals and there's other states like mine.

That is correct, there are states in play.

I have DTV with the NY Metro package, I am getting Obama and Romney ads which is surprising. During the 2008 campaign we got nothing in the way of ads locally (I had cable them).

I would love to know if Obama and Romney are making local buys. IF. they are needing to make local ad buys in NJ NY and CT Obama is in real trouble.

I would love to know if people with cable in the Tri State area are seeing cloal ads for Romney or Obama?

The NY market is very expensive to advertise in.

Does party affiliation make them less of a swing state???

Some things are what they are...

The reason the economies are up in the swing states are because of Republican governors.Ohio,Va, Iowa,Wisconsin Fla.
They've proved to business they will not tax them to the stone age.
Business is up.

Rhode Island has had many republican governors and still is a heavily voting democratic state ... one has nothing to do with the other.
