This is truly a "what the hell" rationalization.

Most Cops Just Above Normal - The average score nationally for police officers is 21 to 22, the equivalent of an IQ of 104, or just a little above average.

I have said many times "America is going nuts" I think the real reason is the system is afraid of people like him, he's smarter than they are.

Guess the term "best and brightest" is lost on some PDs.

I know it would make me feel all warm and fuzzy to know my town was turning away the smart guys/gals for fear of them getting bored and instead went with the average types.....thank goodness most other lines of work don't follow this ideal.
