Look at all the college charactors pulling in six-figure pensions. One nearly tops a quarter of a million per.
How about this State Trooper. That "48" you see is indeed his age.

Nice gig eh? So for writing the rest of us tickets for 20+ years, and sleeping below a few underpasses on the night shift, he gets a nice fat $136,000 pension at age 48. Among the other bennies he's probably lined up for.
You have to scroll all the way to page 11 to find the first sub-$100,000 pensioneer. That would be our good friend Charles "Chucky" Grimes who slides in at a mere Grimes $99,998.28 per. Chuck, stand up Chuck, let us see ya...

How about the MBTA payroll? You have to go all the way to page 32 to find the first sub-$100,000 earner for 2011. To think these people retire after 23 years of service, at 80% of their top 3 earning years. Is it any wonder as to why this agency is over $5 billion in debt? Nah....

Wow, such brilliance. That "trooper" as you call him did not retire as a trooper. He retired as Colonel, as in Superintendent of State Police. He was the head of a 2500+ person agency.
As far as writing tickets and sleeping, Robbins was involved in Tactical Operations, Investigations and ran multiple units at all different levels of rank.
The current Colonel is even more accomplished. Maybe we pay them 40k and hope things run ok?

As I've stated before, no retired gov't employee should ever get a pension over $100k. Not even at the highest of high-levels...never mind a state cop. Secondly, no gov't employee should be able to collect any retirement bennies until they're at least 60 years old.
Heck, to be eligible for a $100k+ pension, one would have to earn at least $130k/year and prolly more. How about these people put some of their own money away for retirement like the rest of us have to do.
Shame on all of us for sleeping at the wheel while or honest gov't rep's made these deals with public unions....SHAME!

He doesn't deserve a $100k/year pension at the age of 48...that much we can agree upon. To believe otherwise would make you a public employee, eh?

God, we as citizens need to end this bullsh1t as soon as possible. What puzzles me is anyone who doesn't have any issue with both the pay AND the retirement structure.

A person collecting a 100K+/yr taxpayer funded pension that is indexed for inflation at the age of 48 is an outrage. He could be George Patten and not worth that much.

Brilliance indeed. Collonel, general, king ruler supreme....he's a state trooper. This isn't their pay incase you didn't notice. This is his PENSION. I can guarantee you his annual pay was far more. For a cop! That's is absolute nonsense. Pay them a good wage, but well into the six figures is nuts. To think some people wonder why government is so expensive, and why us middle classer's constantly get squeezed. When the cost of living is pushed higher and higher by government, be it by their spending, or by their policies, it's those of us in the middle who suffer the most. We pay for six figure pensions, and six figure salaries. Unless of course, you're in that 47% that pays no income taxes.
You have to go all the way to page 86 (86!) to find the first state trooper who made under $100k. Page 86! When you make crazy money like that, your government pension shouldn't be $136k.
